I believe that art (music, paintings, movies, novels) truly captures the essence of our world's bountiful beauty. All in all, the arts are my sanctuary.

Freaks who cut you off on the freeway only to drive 20 mph below the speed limit (ugh!), late-night infommercials, lipgloss that's way too sticky and feels like glue, unwanted advice (just listen, don't preach!), self-absorption/arrogance, unibrows, malicious people, cheaters & "players" (gross), cattiness, soggy cereal, narrow mindedness, people who mow their lawns at 8am on a Saturday/Sunday morning
Don't be catty! Cool? Alright, so let's sit and have some chai:
Maybe it's just an O.C. thing (or not), but it's disheartening that people are either shady or think that you are sketchy due to the scars of bad past experiences. Either way, I don't care; I'll always wear my heart on my sleeve for the people that I love... that said, I'd like to meet: Borat Sagdiyev & Azamat Bagatov, people I've lost touch with from the past, those whom I can learn from, Armenians and other Harout Pamboukjian stalkers (kidding, lol!), and ones who inspire me like Serj Tankian, William Saroyan, and my LOYAL closest to kin...

I grew up listening and dancing to Armenian music; I was part of an Armenian Dance Ensemble at a young age, so Armenian music will always be very close to my heart. Harout Pamboukjian in particular is my fave. Anyway, I have a very musical family: my mom has been a professional piano player and instructor for over 15 years, my sister is an amazing singer, and my cousin is part of a kick-ass band (www.wearemynx.com)... not incidentally, I LOVE music! I love all genres. To name a few off the top of my head...System of a Down, Tori Amos, Garbage, Queensryche, Extreme, The Cranberries, Tiesto, Frank Sinatra, Nirvana, IIO, Tatu, Russian pop (Linda -Vorona), No Doubt/Gwen, Madonna, Usher, Dr. Dre, Panic at the Disco, Chemical Brothers, Depeche Mode, U2, John Lennon, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kelis, Pussycat Dolls, Julie London, Alabina, Gypsy Kings, The Killers, MYNX, 80s pop/rock (Samantha Fox, Roxette, etc) and a lot more!
Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina (can you tell I'm an Audrey fan?), Clueless, Bride and Prejudice -my new fave, V for Vendetta, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Napoleon Dynamite, White Chicks, Wizard of Oz, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Ice Queen, The Professional, Labyrinth, Legend, Goonies, Closer, Vanilla Sky, Crash, Weird Science, Can't Buy Me Love, Grease, Urban cowboy, Sixteen Candles, all of the Rocky movies, all Disney movies (Old Yeller), TeenWitch, Career Opportunities, Ewok, Gremlins, Abbot and Costello's Jack and the Beanstalk, and much more...
My faves boil down to classic time television like Three's Company, Wonder Years, Mr. Belvedere, The Munsters, The Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy and etc.
I went through distinct author-phases growing up, and I can remember them vividly: I started out as a big-time Berenstein Bears junkie, then I was a "Babysitter's Club" fiend, then it was R.L. Stine. Haha... I read anything I could get my hands on from those authors and chronologies (oh, and Choose your own Adventure and Sweet Valley High - I know I know!). To list a few random favorites (because I'd be here all day listing EVERY book I ever cherished): The Road from Home by David Kherdian (read it twice... an amazing portraiture of a woman's struggle for survival during a period in which her family and countryfolk were being slaughtered in the hands of the Ottoman government: you should be informed of the Armenian Genocide), 1984, Animal Farm by George Orwell, False Memory by Dean Koontz, The Watchers again by Koontz, Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Tess of D'Ubervilles, You'll Never Make Love in this Town Again , stories by Franz Kafka (who could forget that famous "Metamorphosis"), The Joy Luck Club (the book is 298377232 times better than the movie), and a slew of others -including practically anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald! A personal favorite of the aforementioned author would be the short flapper story, "Bernice Bobs Her Hair," which is still close to my heart!!!
