About Me

trying not to take myself too seriously, mostly succeeding... ..

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

My Interests

being in nature, especially hot springs, Burning Man, music festivals, road trips, staying up for sunrise then sleeping till sunset, learning how things work, challenging myself, listening to people's stories, shakin my booty till the sweat is drippin off, dancing, dancing, the ocean, the beach, being with my amazing friends, doing business with love and integrity, experiencing art in all it's forms, love, laughing until it hurts and you still can't stop...

I'd like to meet:

honest beings, humble people, people with better questions than answers, those who would never trade money for love, the dancers, the poets, the scientists, the lovers, those who create beautiful music and art, people who can look me in the eye...

Music:

there's waaaay too much to list, the messages in music are what's important to me. I have so much respect for the people who put themselves out there day after day because they believe in it, it's very inspiring...my favorites are Jaik Willis, Lubriphonic, Andreas Kapsalis Trio, Boombox, Ani DiFranco, Cornmeal, Lucinda Williams, Chicago Farmer, Flowmotion, Burning River Band, John Coltrane, Bassnectar, Heavyweight Dub Champion, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Random Rab, Tori Alamaze, Toshi Reagan, G. Love, Run DMC, EFUA, Thievery Corporation, Sade, Jagga, Bob Marley and the whole family, Corinne Bailey Rae, Tricky, Tom Constantin, Melvin Seals, The Last Poets, UltraGirlPower, anything w/heavy bass and soul,(turn up the bass!!) funk, organic beats...I don't like reggae, I love it!!!

Movies:

the original King Kong, I haven't seen the new one yet...A scanner darkly, Wings of Desire, Blue Planet, Microcosmos, Y Tu Mama Tambien, House of Flying Daggers(the dance scene, how I wish I could move like that!), 1 Giant Leap, great soundtrack...

Television:

I have what my antennae brings in and it doesn't get turned on much, I've seen some cool stuff on other people's tv's who have more channels, I love the shows about the ocean...

Books:

The Illuminated Rumi is one of my favorites, also Dalva by Jim Harrison and Pronoia by Rob Brezsny...

Heroes:

anyone who says what's on their mind, no bullshit, and aren't scared of truth, people who take risks and don't mind working hard, the friends who can always get me to laugh, even when it's through tears, Ani DiFranco for her honesty and inspriration that helps me to make sense of bullshit...
