Well DJ Papa Gee born in the East End of London started his Djing career in Custom House at his local youth Centre at the age 12 where he took to the underground dance music as well as Ragga, Lovers rock, Rare Groove & RnB.
Listening to Centreforce, Station Fm, Kiss (when it was in its pirate days) & Weekend Rush even down to Capital & Radio 1 from a young age he knew music is what he wanted to get into plus where his parents was having a lot of house parties & his father was a DJ back in the days.In 93-94 Papa Gee & Junglist MC (younger brother) use to do set in the bar of Roller Express on a Sunday when it was normal Roller night as well as raving there. They both had the opportunity to play @The Fives & Tenors doing the warm up set & from there they took on the warm up set @Jungle Champion Sound Clash where DJ Kenny Ken received his belt.In mid 96 link up with Daz from Juice & Splash Recording through sending him a demo of a track he did with his cousin that he ended up re-doing in his studio. He was playing on a station called Cyndicate Fm where he did a guest show with him & from that DJ Papa Gee & Junglist was doing guest show the station that representing drumnbass jungle in the Essex & Kent area. By this time Papa & Junglist where playing in Essex & Kent for Pure Science & Heat, Sound Clash in Sittingbourne as well as others.DJing at clubs & raves was what Papa wanted do but he still needed to learn more about producing the music he loved. So his old MC from Kik Fm Illmatika Mc linked him up with Lynx otherwise know as Different Levels who taught him how to use his studio & from that the relationship with Lynx he got to know DJ Rizla & the greatest MC ever period Stevie Hyper D (RIP) when they started recording there first Album The First Step which got sign to Island Recordings.Papa Gee was feature on one of Stevies & Different Lvls live performance @Subtorania West London to promote the Album, which was an experience, hell never forget. Then Stevie passed away & Papa Gee & Drnt Lvls done a Remix of United Vibes which was featured on the second Album The Next Step only on CD.In early 97 Papa Gee got the chance to go on to the top Hardcore, DrumnBass Jungle radio station through sending in demo tape to the great Kool Fm 9.45 & presently still on doing the 9pm till 11pm Saturdays with the rest of Go Getters members MC Curse & Junglist MC.Between 98-99 Papa started project with Rooney, J-Rise & Rampa under the name Pinnacle where Papa & Rampa was running the label Detox Recordings alongside DJ Magic from Prisoner of Technology who ended up helping us with our first release Calabasa by The Pinnacle with DJ Magic track Dark Life. Pappa ended up working with Magic on other project for Detox as well as Magic label Scream Records, both of them was doing B 2 B set on Kool Fm & they both got the residency @Twice as Nice on a Sunday night @The Coliseum & The End Club. At the same time Papa was helping MC Piper with his launch of his DrumnBass label Tiamat Recordings which Amity 2(Papa & J-Rise) released 4 My Dogs & Fundabirds & F1 which was the last track that release on Tiamat.By 2001 - 03 Papa has played @Tenor Fever, Heat & Fever, United Dance & Jungle Fever x3, countless times @Pure Science, Kool Fm Birthday Bash, O-D-B @The Rex, Pyromaniacs @Propaganda, countless smaller club events as well as travelling to Athens Greece with Kool Fm for the music festival, MC Convention & Telepathy regular booking Pappa. But on the radio he was no longer doing the Friday show, just Saturday as Magic was no longer on Kool it was just Papa, Curse & Junglist. They all decided to go under the name Go-getters & later that year formed GG Recordings their own DrumnBass label, which they are using to release their own stuff.And for 2004 - 05 Papa Gee will continuing Djing & producing with his artist Inside Information who done the remix of there first track Im go-getter with Shock dem by Amity 2 Vs Inside Info. Papa had another rmx project from Dance concept that was doing a Stevie Hyper album in which he involved DJ Magic on remix.
