About Me

As you’re no doubt aware Drum & Bass was born from a desire to push the boundaries of music and production; once upon a time it was the pinnacle of musical evolution, with new styles and influences being incorporated into its ever growing melodic palette almost on a daily basis. Fast forward to 2004 and while the production values were still ahead of the game, Drum & Bass had become a little stale when it came to fresh ideas.Into that inspirational gap slipped a little known outfit with a tune that literally changed the face of D&B. The outfit in question was none other than Essex based Nightbreed, and the tune which catapulted them into the record boxes of the World’s best DJs was of course ‘Pack of Wolves’ snapped up instantly by the mighty Ram Records.‘Pack Of Wolves’ crossed borders getting unprecedented airplay on Radio 1 and London’s XFM, generating massive support from the likes of Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, James Hyman, Eddie ‘Temple’ Morris & Mary Anne Hobbs. ‘Pack Of Wolves’ was a true representation of what the production outfit was all about: “Drum and bass is all about using your influences, and that one came straight from the heart”Following the Drum & Bass scene’s reaction to ‘Pack of Wolves’ Nightbreed became an instant D&B success story; their forward thinking approach, blending Punk Rock attitudes with razor sharp breakbeats and rib crushing basslines soon caught the ear of none other than The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett who immediately asked them to remix ‘Spitfire’. Their original works were hitting the dancefloor spot too, with tracks such as ‘Arachnophobia’ and ‘Venice Beach’ (featured on DJ Hype’s ‘Dubplate Killaz 2’ compilation) receiving love from all corners of the D&B spectrum, while more high profile remixes in the form of their re-rub of Roni Size’s ‘Rise Up’ and Lab 4’s Nine Inch Nails cover ‘Perfect Drug’ grabbed the attention of the masses.Despite their musical achievements and being pushed firmly into the limelight on the global DJ circuit, Nightbreed shied away from the media, reluctant to shout too loudly and to let their music do the talking. malachai will still be DJ'ing throughout 2008,an will be focusing on CABIN FEVER , working with various vocalist and mc's. watch this space! !-END Custom Banner at Top of Page-!
