What Kind of Soul Are You?
Let's be real here....we're not all sunshine and daisies. Neither am I. & as much as I used to hold myself to a much higher ideal, these days I have come to realize something very important. I am Human. Nothing more, nothing less. I am a Dreamer & a Hopeful. A Skeptic and a Cynic. I am Restless, Imaginative, Artistic, a little Wild, Mixed Up, Determined, Complicated, an Explorer, Bittersweet, Romantic, Contemplative, Playful, and a Big Fish in a Little Pond looking for the Ocean. I've heard the term "Old Soul" a time or two, but lately it seems i've been making more mistakes than ever...yet, at the same time it seems like I am more on the right track now than I have been in years & getting things right for a change. I guess it's true that sometimes you Gain by Losing or even Learn the Greatest Lessons by Letting Go. I won't bore you with a Philosophical rant so i'll end with just a rough sketch of me..I mean, that IS why you're reading this afterall, right?
I am an ARTIST. I am not a great or famous artist. I don't earn fortune from selling my art. I haven't shown my art in elite galleries. I don't have half as much formal art education as many others.... BUT even still, I AM an Artist. & it's a passion of my soul. Always has been. Always will be. I enjoy a number of mediums... Acrylics, Graphite, Pastels, Clay, Found Objects, etc.
i LOVE Music. I spent eight years studying music in highschool & have taken some college courses. I play viola. I used to be in church choir. I've dabbled in singing and spoken word. But most of all...I am a Listener. I let it take me Away. I Tune into all the nuances of the music..down to the most remote sound. A slight instrument, that though the listener doesn't realize it, it pulls the whole piece together. I consume music. It is my Milk & Honey.
DANCE. Again, I am not this Fantastic, Jaw Dropping dancer....but Dance is a Fire that burns within me. & in the Way I consume Music, Dance consumes ME. Whether it's Salsa or Bachata...Middle Eastern Dance...House...Reggaeton...whatever...It Moves me, literally, and I cannot resist.
I am a HUGE Bookworm. Really. I can't even tell you how many books I have read in my lifetime.... Hundreds. Seriously. & I have a terrible habit of having a number of books going at the same time.
PHOTOGRAPHY. It is an itch i've been yearning to scratch for yeeeaaarrs....& it is something I have been exploring more as of late. I am a purely Amateur photographer & thats fine by me. I have learned that a photographer sees the world in a COMPLETELY different light than the Average Joe. In the same way I seek all the remote nuances of music, I have learned to do the same with Life. To see things from another Angle..& to look for the Small Beauty where it can be found. The world is truly magnificent...it just all depends on how you're Looking at it.
NATURE. I am an Earth Element through and through. I find a deep sense Solace and Lucidity when I am in Nature. There is a Calm, a Peace, a sense of Ease...of being able to Breathe easier. A feeling of Oneness that I cannot explain. But I more than Crave it. I NEED it. Nowonder I work in a garden center and will be majoring in Zoology huh?
TRAVEL. i LOVE to travel. Period. A couple years ago my aerial travels began, and I have been going since. I've always been restless, but I suppose as I get older & the more I learn, the more I realize the World is my Playground. & believe me...I intend to Play. :)
There is a GREAT deal more to me than just these simple things.....this is only a General outline.... so I suppose if you want to know more...then Ask.
RIP KORY NATON KYLE. YOU LEFT THIS LIFE TOO SOON....OR PERHAPS GOD FELT IT WAS RIGHT ON TIME. BUT I MISS YOU NOW, AND I ALWAYS WILL. WE WILL MEET AGAIN. I AM SURE OF IT. YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.
