Jay Ruston began his recording career in Canada working under Producer Jack Richardson (Alice Cooper, The Guess Who), and attending college, training for recording engineering. In 1995 Jay re-located to Ottawa, Canada’s capital and quickly buried himself in the music scene. For 7 years, Jay worked nearly 7 days a week, 15 hours a day recording hundreds of bands and musicians. This experience led to a relocation to Los Angeles in 2002, where he quickly immersed himself into the local scene. Having worked with bands like Abandoned Pools, The Donnas, Meatloaf, Wilson Phillips, Polyphonic Spree and Jars of Clay quickly made Jay an in demand Producer/Mixer. Jay has worked alongside producers such as Desmond Child, Peter Asher, David Rolfe, Frank Fitzpatrick, Michael James and Andreas Carlsson. Jay was recently awarded a Gold Record for mixing the American Idol Season 4 cast album.
