Influences: as of late... gravenhurst rules my stereo along w/ Ida, low, arvo part, kozlek-redhousepainters-skm, miles davis, the kingsbury manx... my first influence as a kid was ringo star. i discoverd leonard cohen and nick drake shortly after my first album (97). i love cohen for his lyrical strengths and musically on his early albums, nick drake simply because he keeps me calm and i just never get tired of him. what else... tom waits, lou reed, cash and dylan, ray charles, the eels, death cab, jeremy enigk-sunny, neil halstead, mojave 3, iron and wine... also folks like suzanne vega, mark eitzel, bruce cockburn and mark heard for their lyrical minds.
**** literature influences me a lot: william carlos williams, the old and new testament, ts elliot, the beats, dylan thomas, c.s. lewis, chesterton, dostoevsky....
