Music, coffee, smoking, drinking, seeing good bands play, being part of life and not just watching it go by, reading good books, crosswords puzzles, talk radio (coast to coast am), knowledge of our complicated world, so I can better understand it.Go play this game. People who make me laugh and challenge me. I try to surround myself with intelligent, and creative people, who will in turn help me to become a better person. You better know a lot about music, because, that is one of the few subjects I will get really opinionated about.OH! And these people...../a
I, pretty much, like all kinds of music, or, I will at least give new stuff a try. Hippie jam bands piss me off, and I just don't have a lot of respect for that trance DJ crap out there (unless it is created with thought), and "bands" that don't play their own instruments. I guess if I had to name my top bands they would be...The Beatles, They might be giants, pixies, Harry Connick Jr, Sinatra, richard cheese, Outkast, Robinella and the cc string band, Cash, Hank sr, Public Enemy, Beck, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Soul coughing, Tool, Dino, Smashing Pumpkins (pre 1996), Eagles of Death Metal, Elvis Costello, Tally hall, The Beta Band, Liz Phair, Shots Fired, Bacon Shoe, Anvil Chorus, Roman Numerals, The Capes, Peter Cincotti, Kenny fucking Loggins, Rex Hobart and The Misery Boys, Burial at Sea, National Fire Theory, Flee the seen, Federation of Horsepower, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Rob Dougan, Mac leathal, Scissor Sisters, The architects, republic tigers, American Catastrophe, Nine inch nails, There are tons more, I'm sure, but these are off the top of my head. What I like best, however, is discovering new talents, and hearing things I have never heard before. It is not uncommon for me to see 3 or 4 live music acts a week. Drop me a post if you know of good stuff coming to Kansas City.
I tend to be a music snob, however, so I hope I do not every offend your music taste, as it is something where everyone is right. The most recent top 5.
This is a short film about 9/11. Scary stuff. The truth is out there.
I don't watch TV much, but, on Sunday's, it is an all day affair. Chiefs games, King of the hill, Simpsons, Family guy, Arrested Development, and whatever other show they hammock between those shows, and, of course six feet under. Enterprise, any news program, That 70's show, Jeopardy, and Cops. Thank God I don't have cable, 'elst I would be a vegetable crackhead. PBS is my discovery channel, when in doubt...just watch PBS. ALSO for all those idiots out there who say "I never watch television" they are missing out on the greatest informational tool ever invented. It is all in how you use it. If you choose to watch Two and a half men....so be it. Waste of time.
Fantasy, Sci-fi, non-fiction, self-help books. Some of my best reads...Piers Anthonys Incarnations of Immortality series, Robert Jordans wheel of time series, Catcher in the Rye, Slaughter house 5, Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy, Dragonlance, Harry Potter series. The dark tower series. Generation X. Those are some of my favorites, however, I will read almost anything my friends loan to me.
Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma.
