Black Rush were formed in 2003 but due to certain circumstances they didn't start gigging until late 2005. The original line-up consisted of Ryan and Karl Hayer (guitars), Sam Patient (bass), Aaron Shergold (vocals) and Ben Henstridge (drums). However, due to musical differences, Ben Henstridge left the band in 2004, only to be replaced by Jack Henstridge on drums. Soon after, Aaron also left and after a long period withough a singer, James Gillies was brought in to do vocals.
During 2005, Black Rush started gigging around the South of England building a small fanbase and their efforts entered them into the 'Best New Band' category at the 2005 Salisbury Rock Awards, which they went on to win.
They have entered the recording studio three times and have recorded a few songs which they are hoping to release soon.
August 2006 saw the replacement of Sam Patient with Matt Tonks, which completed the current line-up of the band.
Black Rush will be gigging more and more this year with the release of an album soon after.
