APPRECIATE YALLS LOVE I'M LOOKIN TO COLLAB W/ PEOPLE IN THE DFDUB AREA YALL GET AT ME AND STAY TUNED FOR MORE MUSIC!!! Aside from talent and marketability, most artists must be well-rounded performers, impressive in all aspects of music. Being gifted as a songwriter, an excellent entertainer, dancer and vocalist is not enough for Edmond Dash, 20, hailing from Cleburne, a small town in the Dallas Fort-Worth metroplex of Texas. “I want to be the best at what I do. So I keep movin forward.â€
*In 2001, the R&B quartet, SYG was discovered by Marvin McIntyre (New Edition, Keith Sweat), and signed to an Atlanta-based record label, Right Time Records. Edmond soon took his place as a frontman and lead singer, but the complications of life and certain circumstances would soon prove too much for the group. A nearly fatal car accident left the young Dash in a coma in ICU with numerous traumatic injuries. With another member of the group incarcerated, the boys disbanded.
* Later a new project emerged as Edmond and another member of SYG took the initiative to due some recording on their own, and they formed a duo known as Entyce. Entyce saw substantial success, opening for and performing with entertainers such as Avant, Young Joc, and Lupe Fiasco, to name a few. They were interviewed for various newspapers and appeared on “Trix’n’the’hat,†a show on a Dallas network, as well as “Showtime at the Apollo†in New York City. Radio,Tv personality and comedian Rickey Smiley saw the boys perform and personally told Entyce they had “extraordinary talent.†But the confliction and complication of secular music in a Christian community would put an end to Entyce in early 2007.
Edmond Dash came forward as a solo artist. With more creative control and less inhibitions, he is prepared to take the music industry on himself. Edmond Dash has a distinct sound and style that is rare in today’s music. As a child he was surrounded by the sounds of Prince, The Time, Sly and the Family Stone, and growing up he began listening to artists like Boyz 2 Men, Dru Hill, Joe,Donnell Jones and Ginuwine. Edmond accredits much of his musical taste to these artists and this sound. He was heavily influenced by Sam Cooke and Michael Jackson as well. Influence from the early 90’s style R&B is most prominent and he also pulls inspiration from neo-soul and rock. Vocally he shows small likeness to smooth voices like Brian McKnight, 112, and Boyz II Men. As an entertainer, he admires MJ, James Brown, and Usher. Edmond's stage presence is a force to be reckoned with and if his career is as impressive as he is in concert, it is safe to say he will be a prominent artist for years to come.
