What you think of yourself is much more important than what others think of you. (Seneca)

About Me

Like most people I'm complicated. Once upon a time I was a young student of Classical Civilisations and Philosophy, now I'm a DJ or drummer or drum tech or show engineer... I'm not old I just feel it. Those that know me think I'm a sarcastic bastard (even my wife does). I've travelled around the world and back, but have now settled into a routine (sleep, work, sleep etc..)with Marylittlegoth , who distracts me with corsetry, tattoos, boots and Burlesque, whilst I sit back listen to music or make huge Sally Rand-esque Fans. We all need a hobby!!! "Wenn ihr's nicht fulht, ihr werdet'snicht erjagen."
..."If you don't feel it you'll never get it."
Faust - Johann Wolgang Goethe. I don't particularly care what people think of me if it's negative, life is to short to worry about what is not in your power to change, especially the opinions of narrow minded people. I've been called every name under the sun and laughed back. I'll take criticisism contructively though, but if you call me gay, freak or anything else unoriginal, it becomes your problem not mine, I'll continue being me and you can go screw yourself! I take most pleasure out of music, I've been a Dj for 15 years, a Founder of InsanitoriuM with DJ penfold's nemesis as my alter ego, which ran from 1998 to 2008. But life changes and demands more challenges... Now I have started another project. I'm fusing my love of Industrial / Electro / Goth old and new with a sense of Burlesque and the circus, although it will take me some time to see the results I'm after (but it's getting there...), whilst I am also making Burleque fans, and have recently started work on creating custom latex clothing (who needs sleep?!)
If money was no question I'd buy my own club and call it "Baker's Place" (after Josephine), "Mistinguett's", or simply "the Club", because you've guessed it I like Burlesque and Pin up history, from the performers like Josephine Baker, models like Bettie Page and teasers like Jennie Lee, not because I'm a bloke that likes to see near naked dancers etc (which I would anyway), but because the culture of Burlesque includes the then undergound music of the day, jazz, and comedy as well (Bob Hope and Phil Silvers amongst others started in the theatres of Burlesque)and retro pin up had more tease then the modern equivilant.
It's a unique combination that is rare today and I would like to see thrive. Underground Music (well Industrial, Goth,Deathrock and Horror Punk at least!). Laughter. And Corsetry. Hence Gentleman Jim's Cabaret...

...Just follow the links...

I drank too much, and with the caffeine never slept, so now I look older than I feel (who doesn't?!) Even with out caffeine now I can't sit still I always have to do something. Music fills the gaps. But life has to be challenging, and beautiful in the eye of the beholder. If you're a band looking to add another friend, look at the Music list. I don't just accept anyone as a friend. I don't appreciate Death metal, garage, or whiney bands like Oasis...you can friend me as an individual as long as there are common interests, but I won't add any band just because I'm a DJ. If you're some Porn site tart flashing flesh without class and style, I'll delete your bare arse request. If you're trying to get help getting your families money out of Nigeria, Russia etc... I'll delete your theiving arse request. Brides looking to come to the UK. Single arse. Delete. Request. Simple enough to understand? Thank you for you patience, in preventing me losing mine... Tattoos add to the beauty..

I am the Devil card. The Devil is based on the figure Pan, Lord of the Dance. The earthly physicality of the devil breeds lust. The devil's call to return to primal instincts often creates conflict in a society in which many of these instincts must be kept under control. Challenges posed by our physical bodies can be overcome by strength in the mental, emotional, and spiritual realms. Pan is also a symbol of enjoyment and rules our material creativity. The devil knows physical pleasure and how to manipulate the physical world. Material creativity finds its output in such things as dance, music, gardening, and sex. The self-actualized person is able to accept the sensuality and usefulness of the devil's gifts while remaining in control of any darker urges...

My Interests

Ancient cultures, Rome, Greece and Egypt (up to about 1500 years ago), Constantinople, and the Crusades, ancient worships and the occult. Martial Arts, Fire breathing, Monochrome, wit, sarcasm, Plants, Reptiles, Music, Drums, Burlesque, Photography, Fetishism (history and customs of...) Red Wine & black beer. Fire and Faith, I am the serpent that makes the world Paradise. It will also surprise a few people but I can and do read... Tattoos and piercing occupy the time and skin (well what else is it going to be used for?!), whilst Fire breathing is a fun and enviromentally sound way of killing flys and entertaining parties, Vampires (I AM NOT one or think I am one, I just love the imagery of the myth and literature), 50's pin up glamour and it's modern fashion spin off, and relaxing and watching the world drift by and taking the occasional photograph of the interesting places and people if I get a quiet 5 minutes. I also make Burlesque Sally Rand Fans to order. There are a few pictures on here, but there should be more up soon. If you like to find out details just message me.

I'd like to meet:

The creater of Scrappy Doo, in a dark alley with a lump of 4 by 2 with nails in... But failing that Goths, Punks, or whatever alternative label people want to go by, that share common interests, or anyone that can make me laugh. Tim Burton would be a good start, then the likes of Tim Curry, Dylan Moran and Eddie Izzard. People that want to give me money for playing music and people that like what I play... Let me know where you are...

Billy Connelly for fighting out of the ship yard with nothing but a talent for making people laugh (and making awedge of cash with it!), Rob Zombie for taking a lot of influences and moulding something new, Wayne Hussey for telling that obnoxious bald twat to fuck off! John Lydon for still being John Lydon no matter what he does. John Peel RIP for all he did for the alternative music scene. A certain Mr Strummer RIP - a musicians god - enough said. Add to that Pinky and the Brain, and little Stu Griffin and the Evil monkey in the closet (Family Guy). There are to many to mention them all, but they are not just celebraties, but people that strive to better the world around them, from surgeons and researchers, to dedicated teachers and nurses.. (particularly the ones that have patched me up over the years)
