Laura Rodriguez

Basic Stuff: My name is Laura Rodriguez. I go to Eastern Michigan University for Interior Design. I play piano and write songs in my ever so diminishing "spare time". I love photography, singing, Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, college... when I'm not in class, New York, the arts, and beer. :-) Music: is me. Its my world and for some reason it always has been. Its been the one thing in my life that could make me forget every bad thing, or every good thing... my one consistant motivator. Music moves me. I'm into hooks... the kind of song that will either stay with you for the whole day, or make your soul stir when you hear it. My music is not finished. I'm still writing and when I'm ready I will begin to put all the pieces together. In all honesty, I dont want to be an interior designer. I really enjoy it, but I am a musician. Its funny because there have been times when I've tried to forget music all together... really tried to leave it behind for the more "conventional life". But I'm not me without it... I dont feel whole. Ah well... I dont know... half the time I dont know what I want to do with my life. As long as things continue to go well, I'm content. You know what, I think it would be awesome to be on American Idol... its a total rip off show, and they make fun of people for "television" and good ratings... but it would be sweet... just because I think its something that will go down in history... This big phenomenon that the country obsessed over for 10 years or so. I'd really like to make history, or atleast be a part of it. My experience in this field includes winning several talent competitions, being in cover bands, singing for weddings and telethons, going to AMDA in New York for musical theatre, and now writing my own songs. But the only place to go is up. I need to become something. I need to become that person that I've always dreamed of being. About Me: I'm funny. haha... I just like to laugh... most of the time its at myself. I am really really clumsy. Ask my friends, they'll tell you. When I get talking about music, like I just did up there, I'm really deep and passionate and what not, but other than that I'm a pretty laid back, no drama, have fun all the time type of individual.
