SEXTON'S ORCHIDS

Sexton’s Orchids starts up in Granada in july 2003, as a project of Thrash - Death, with Eloy Martínez (vocals), Daniel Lara (guitar) and Luis Rodríguez (drums) as founder members. Short time after Carlos Retamero (Guitar) and Isaac Rodríguez joined the band.None of them had problems to adapt their previous experience in other bands to the creative process, mostly because they had been partners in other projects: Eloy, Dani and Luis in Rhyme and Adder. Dani and Isaac in Morior Ergo Sum. Carlos had not been in any band but his knowledge of the guitar made him adapt quickly and without problems.They began to compose short after their beginning, and in November 2003 they had their first performance in “Planta Baja” in Granada together with Veronica’s Agressive State, both being warmly welcomed by the audience.On the 6th of March 2004 they travelled to Castelló del Rugat, Alicante where they participated as guests in a concert of Nadir and Tanatossis in the hall El Cuerno.All along the year 2004 they went on working on the new songs, perfectioning them and giving them a personal touch to make a selection for the first album of the band: "A thousand Bleeding Dawns”On the 13th January 2005 they participate the Emergenza Festival, a world contest for amateur bands. They end in the first place of their group, reaching the semifinal wich would be held in “El Tren” in Granada on 6th May.Until February in Newave Studio (Huetor Vega) they record which is so far the first work of the band, including five themes, as they say worked with “muchos cojones”: Die bastard, The madness of God, Sacrificed, Cry my death with blood and At the gates of perversion. It is noticeable the quality of the sound, the experience and the time of Manuel Sánchez and Pedro Cejudo and obviously the effort of the band itself. Sexton’s Orchids tries to show what they really are: a powerful band, sometimes aggressive, without any complexes related to musical composition or lyrics; wild guitars and bass, stunning drums and a heart-rending voice.In April 2005 they participate in the contest “Espacio Libre” promoted by the Diputacion of Granada, reaching the finals of metal bands.On the 14th May of 2005 they presented A thousand Bleeding Dawns in the Isabel la Catolica College, playing all their repertory and giving a great show.On the 12th November of 2005 they played in PIORNO ROCK FESTIVAL with UFO, After Forever, Saratoga, Warcry, Samael, Dark Funeral, Koma, Skunk D.F., Avulsed and Egraine.
