About Me

This non-profit was inspired by the founder Ebony Dickinson. Although Ebony has accomplished many of her goals through basketball she believes her purpose in life was bigger than just playing professional ball. Her biggest challenge came to her this year at the age of 30. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her first reaction was like most of us when we hear the word cancer, she was devastated and for a quick second felt like her life was over. Through healing, research and a lot of support from family and friends Ebony's faith began to grow as she realized there was hope for her. She embraced this challenge and decided she was going to be the one to change people's mindset of this disease. Instead of the more traditional treatment Ebony opted to take the holistic route. She has educated herself on the proper foods to eat and has changed her diet completely to organic fruits and vegetables as well as natural supplements prescribed by her doctor. Despite her financial struggles through this ordeal, she thanks God she is blessed, doing well and feeling great. Ebony wanted to share her story and help those who were or are in the same predicament. "Regardless of what treatment one chooses the key is to have faith, take good care of yourself, and stay strong no matter what your circumstances are. My goal for this non-profit is to be able to help young females who don't have the support, finances or education on this disease and help raise awareness. I would also like to eventually venture out to help our youth and young adults as a whole who have stopped growing because of obstacles in there life they feel they can't get past. Unfortunately a lot of our youth and young adults lack positive reinforcements. There aren't a lot of resources for our kids growing up and a lot of life lessons they will be forced to figure out on there own through trial and error" Ebony Dickinson. Although basketball was her outlet she gives all credit of staying out of trouble to her mother and high school coach/mentor. Ebony says she was fortunate enough to have a strong mother who instilled in her good morals and values and a coach whose guidance and advice she still take till this very day. "I want Live Out Loud Victory Over Adversity to be a resource or an outlet for teens and young adults when they feel like there is no hope. Life is a blessing and everything that comes with it good or bad we must embrace and/or challenge. We must learn to Live Out Loud and choose Victory Over Adversity" Ebony Dickinson. Ebony currently works with the Newark Board of Education as a substitute teacher, she also works on a one on one basis with inner city kids as a mentor, behavioral assistance therapist and has coached basketball in her past on both the high-school and collegiate level. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like Ebony Dickinson to speak at your next function. Please be sure to have the date, time and place on your email and we will be sure to get back to you with availability within 48 hours. .

Presently our focus is to raise money and awareness for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer to help ease the financial burdens that often times accompanies this disease. With your support we can help them with lost wages, transportation costs to and from treatments and medical expense reimbursements for those seeking alternative methods.
