Music, my most favorite obsession.. Arts and media, random acts of kindness and humanity, fashion, travel, food, movies, varied points of view, different cultures, animals, and gut wrenching laughter ...
Quite a mix...Todd Rundgren, Bowie, Anthony Bourdain, Sean Penn, Lou Reed, Iggy, Sting, Brian Ferry, Serge Gainsbourg, Peter O'Toole, Quentin Tarantino, Johhny Depp :), Marlon Brando, Richard Burton, Benny Hill, Nelson Mandela, and the late great Robert Nesta Marley. Politically correct or not those few mavericks out of many, the ones who have the guts to be true to them selves regardless of status, social, economic, or otherwise, they are the ones who will always have my respect.
I love literally every kind of music. My faves? Bowie definitely number one... Iggy, The Stooges, The Beatles, Lou Reed, Roxy Music,Eno, Todd Rundgren, Chet Atkins, The Pretenders, Manu Chao, Robert Nesta Marley, Miles, The Police, The Clash, Depeche Mode, Third World, Annie Lennox, the one and only Miss Dawn Penn, Elvis (both of them), Tosh, Bunny, The Who, The Pistols, old UB40, Matumbi, Tommy James and the Shondells, Steel Pulse, Linton Kwesi Jonhson, Serge Gainsbourg, Sly & Robbie, Patsy Cline, Mikey Dread, The Cure, Leonard Cohen, Morrissey, Zepplin, Ramones, X, Peggy Lee. Newer stuff? T.V. on the Radio, Silver Sun Pick ups, Liz Phair, Beck, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Rocco Deluca and the Burden, Aimee Mann NIN, Foo Fighters, She Wants Revenge, Elefant, most everything on Indie 103.1 Fm and KROQ (except white trash metal, sorry) Anything dancehall style, rock steady, dub, club, Brazilian, techno. It's all good... It seems that alot of my favorite bands and music influences have come from England. Songs I never get tired of hearing, Lust for Life:),I'm going home (Woodstock version) Five years(Bowie), Here comes the Sun (little darlin),Girl(Beck), Whole lotta love, Pump it up, Suedehead, Midnight Rider, Avalon, Almost Heaven, Malibu...Best line to ponder.. "And in the end... the love you take, is equal to the love you make"
All time favorite? True Romance. Frame for frame it is totally entertaining and I think it is both Quentin Tarantino and Tony Scott's best work, everyone in it is great, and Christian Slater is stellar. No one could have played Clarence better. I could go on and on.... Midnight Cowboy,The Player, The Mission, The Professional, Cool Hand Luke, My Favorite Year, The Lost Boys, Strangers on a Train, The Birds, One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest, Shawshank Redemption, Belle de Jour, Ordinary People, The Upside of Anger, Zelig. To Kill a Mockingbird, American History X. Blah, blah, blah... I tend to lean more toward older classic movies because the character and background actors are as important and thought out as the primary actors roles are.
