Me? I say, when confronting life's dilemmas all you need is ask yourself, "what would Kurt do?" ... and as long as the answer isn't "kill yourself" or "hook up with Courtney Love," you'll be A-OKAY.
I've been trying to update my profile in bits and pieces, as time permits. I really hope a greater good comes out of this internet tomfoolery. Even if I could just bring back the word tomfoolery, then maybe this will be worth while. Say it out loud, "Tomfoolery." Isn't it nice? Hmmm, never mind. Well, myspace has at least been great for keeping up with friends and bands, and friends with bands, all over the world.
The Grove/Melrose was* my hood for a while, now I'm living on the westside. I am a filmmaker. Smashing performance, photography and digital effects into one form is what I do best, next to cuddling and impersonating Holly Hunter. I think Holly would say I imperssshanate her well. I feel most at home/euphoric on film sets and love, love, love the smell of sound stages. It's strange but I really do. My eleventh year (crap dude) working in the business (directing on indies and doing visual effects both on set and in post production for big budgets), I'm still in love with the process.
Hmmm, what else? I'm an independent and (much to the love and dismay of friends and artistic collaborators) "detail oriented"/quality over quantity kind of girl. My orbit is a little more elliptical than circular; sometimes I stray into new galaxies. I usually come back. I fixate a lot and write about it later. I still can't get over the fact that everybody poops. It's just too weird, Michael Jackson, Brittney Spears, Sarah Michelle Gellar, all poopers. See, I did it again. I Have a strong internal justice scale and fight for underdogs. I'm sort of an insomniac and for various reasons follow new music and bands a lot ... I mean a lot. I'm a total, sucker for sweeties ... especially when they're gorgeous. Read waaay too much Tom Robbins as a teenager. Love it when I get to have crushes and butterflies. Value brave and honest people. I'm honest (very, sometimes brutally) and I love it when my friends are too. My friend Siuan puts it best, I like "People who say what they think. People who have the courage of their own convictions."
Okay, well, I think that's way more than enough info. Though I'm an open book, I can't really go into all the saucy and scandalous stuff on the internet. ;) The proper half-Japanese, half-Southern belle (and DAR) in me governs that I preserve what few scraps of dignity I have left.
So, myspace is crazy. I can't believe how many people look at each other's profiles everyday. It is cool and disconcerting all at once. Right now, I'm working crazy, crazy long hours and get very little sleep. I'm sorry if I'm not able to write back...it's not personal or anything ...unless you are that fat hairy Jewish guy, who calls himself the "fat hairy Jewish guy."
