Mod in LA/OC Circa 1981. I sell cleanrooms (kind of a particle free laboratory) by day and by night I play; dad, husband, teacher, World of Warcraft with my mom or screenwriter. Currently I m working on an action adventure screenplay and starting to compile and research a new script called MODS!. This is NOT an American Quad, but the story of our lives.I also wrote for a small rag round 93' called BSB Magazine (Boom Shalakalaka Boom) I interviewed lots of bands such as UT's, Skeletones, Selecter, Hepcat, The Busters, The Skatalites, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Special Beat, Ocean 11, Yeska, The Shantys etc. I saw some of the tightest bands at the time too. The Specs come to mind. Brilliant!About the nickname: We used to rent out rooms in our house and one of our borders, Karl Kelzer, who was not hip to the Mod Scene tripped out on the clothes and the music, but fell in love with the Scoots. When he would see me, he would say. Hey it's Matt the Mod so "Matt the Mod" was born. No, I never went by Matt the Mod. It was plain Matt.
