I born in Iowa but constantly surrounded with travel. My dad was an air force instructor pilot and my mom was a stewardess for United. They met and pretty much instilled travel and spontaneity in my sister and me from a very young age. I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder for my degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I picked CU because it offered the best balance of academics and life. CU gave me 4 amazing years of my life. I was on the crew team and spent 6 days a week reporting to the Boulder Reservoir at 5:00 AM and a lot of time traveling out of state each weekend to regattas in other states, none of them close by. When I wasn't rowing I was climbing and cycling. I went cross country (San Francisco to Washington D.C.) in 2001 with an organization called Push America. We rode 80-90 miles a day and were usually done by noon or a little after. Then after the riding we visited centers for people with disabilities. It was a great experience and prompted me to do a few more rides, Miami to Tallahassee, Sumter to Charleston.
After finishing school in 2002, CU actually messed up and sent me my diploma a semester early in the mail, I spent the next couple of months looking for work in Colorado. 2002 was one of the worst times to secure a job in technology. So when I could not secure a job after many interviews, I decided to pursue an opportunity in Iowa to start up a company that my cousin and I had talked about a few years before. We wrote a business plan and got funding from a few angel investors. The company was called Secured Digital Storage. We were up and running for about 18 months and things were starting to go well. We had a few prestigious beta clients and our data vault was ordered and built. Then things started to go wrong and our investors were disagreeing. Finally they decided to shut down the company due to conflicts and monetary issues.
After SDS shut down I decided to take a trip to the Pacific northwest to see what it was all about and visit a few friends I had been neglecting along the way. Well, my trip ran short. I left the day after Thanksgiving in 2004 and went to the CU vs. Nebraska game in Lincoln, NE, which we WON. After celebrating with a bunch of friends in Lincoln all night I took off the next afternoon for Boulder. On I-76 near Brush Colorado I ran into a sudden snow storm. I dropped my speed down to 55 and people were still blowing by me @ 75. A guy about 300 ft. in front of me started to swerve, so I gradually went over to the next lane, when I did I hit black and and started to spin. I ended up rolling my car 4 times but walked away completely unscathed.

Anyway, after loosing my company, loosing my car, and feeling kind of lost I really started to decline. I found a position with a company called Iowa Interactive in Des Moines for a short 4 month contract. It was a great company and had a lot of fun dealing with the state and legislature. When it came to the end of July this year they asked me if I would like to stay on full time. After a lot of searching I knew that I had to head back to Colorado. So I declined the position, packed up all of my things in a trailer and headed back to Boulder.
I interviewed around the area but also managed to take the month of August off, I deserved it! I went to Miami to celebrate my fiends 25th birthday.

Then I went to see my sister in LA and see her band perform at Paladinos.

Lastly, I took Labor day off and went backpacking from Crested Butte to Aspen. Which was a nice way to end my extended time off.

I know this was a long "About Me" but there a several things I am interested in life and I try to explore and learn each one. I could have put up a bunch of funny stuff but you will find that when you get to know me. This is just an intro to let you know what I have been through lately and where I am headed.
Basically I will try anything and love to travel and explore. My life seems to be a series of goals to look forward to, so I am always up to something. So Kilimanjaro did not work out. Getting your friends to save and fork over $2000.00 can be a bit of a hassle. I went abroad from May 25th - June 22nd it was a fantastic experience and I met someone there, her name is Katalin.
