M.T. was born in Lockhart TX. March 22, 1959. His parents were nomads, traveling around Texas looking for work in cotton fields and picking pecans for gas money. Often living in abandoned houses, broken down barns, sometimes just sleeping in their plymouth stationwagon. It was the summer of 1966 that M.T.'s father found a job working for a turkey ranch that the family could finally settle into an actual home in Austin. 1972, one of M.T.'s older brothers gave him a six string decca guitar that he had won in a poker game from a fellow construction worker. "Play some music, and get famous or at least get laid" the older brother said in a hung over sunday morning painful growl. That year he learned to play guitar, and his life was changed forever.
