Delanies explore the astral sides of psychedelia with a twist of rockabilly mixed with the roots of early punk and rock n' roll
Delanies are the brainchild of two Nordic brothers torn between the various creative influences of Syd Barrett and the Everly Brothers, as well as more modern legends such as the Libertines and The Smiths.
Totally penniless, and with just a suitcase each to their names, Anders and Nich escaped Denmark for London in search of their yellow brick road. The, then two man, band literally bumped into their manager within a week of living in London. They then picked up bassist Daz and drummer Palex along their travels to become the fully-fledged Delanies of today. Playing to packed out London venues the band have quickly built up a massive fan-base of dandys, indie kids and Liberscenesters.
Uniting psychedelic sounds and vocals with a guitar driven punk ethos Delanies are bringing the new wave of indie-pop to you eardrums. Their charismatically energetic live performances and coquettish boy charm combined with oh so heartfelt lyrics leave crowds gagging for more.
Four tracks can currently be found on their myspace, and they feature cracking live favourite Singer On The Sly. With its drawling Syd Barret-esque vocals overlaying whirling guitars and bass the song wouldnt have been amiss at a Rhythm Factory gig in the early millennium. And fresh out of the recording studio is Joy Shall Be Ours In The Morning, which is a sure fire indie anthem in the making.
Forget Carlsberg being Britains favourite Danish export, the Delanies are here to wet your tastebuds
