Meeting through a series of strange coincidences and serendipity, the nine lovely ladies known individually as Babs, Birdie, Coco, Kiki, Lily, Mimi, Pixie, Trixie and Twirl (not their real names, obviously) decided to get together to do some jigging about. They had but one mission: We will work to create an imaginative troupe giving po-faced contemporary dance a kick in the chops and replacing it with something accessible and enjoyableTheir sometimes volatile, often hilarious and utterly unique blend of dance and comedy makes them sure-fire favourites wherever they go. Since forming in 2001 they have blown the minds of the public at large at London Open Dance Festival, Bolton "Streets Ahead" Festival and at various club/gig venues around the country, including Chips with Everything in Manchester and PIGS at the Hi-Fi Club in Leeds. Specialising in taking their joyous dance terrorism to the masses, you won't see these ladies at your theatre, darling. They are more likely to perform impromptu shows on your local garage forecourt.Already beyond accomplished at the art of playing one record after another (more commonly known in the business as DJing), they added another string to their bow when they presented their own radio show on Hulme fm during January of this year. Around this time Adrian from Kings Have Long Arms had a dream, and that dream became the troupe theme. It may be released by Chips Records sometime in the future...
