About Me

It's so easy to get caught up in what 'about me'. It's not about me, it's about us; having patience for the stranger/friend/family member(s) that annoys you, loving as much as possible, & trying to free ourselves from our egos & self-interests. That's my challenge; so much more can be done without the layers of self. My Father & best friend is a Cubano from Havana (left @ 34 yrs); Mom is American. I guess I'm like little Ricky from 'I love Lucy' with a love for cultures & their traditions. I salute all searching or have a map to a worthy cause. My days: working as a healthcare consultant and enjoying it; I want to better the system; we forgot about the uninsured. Passions include film, theatre, dance, the fusion of them all with music and getting involved in domestic & international policy/diplomacy. I'm an actor and producer with Rising Sunset Productions, Inc.; the first film is coming out soon...

My Interests

Families (siempre interesante), breathing, playing basketball/tennis, film production/management (finance/budgets, strategy, marketing), fusing multiple performing arts, the dead & living poets, history/politics, healthcare policy (it's broken; but words are weak - the time to act is now), domestic & international policies/diplomacy.Our movie is coming out soon; it's in post production (here's the first 3 minutes & trailer):....

I'd like to meet:

I love to meet people who can be free of themselves, inspire/educate through their talents, those with the courage to change/challenge the unacceptable, and who wish to shine their light where there is darkness. La vida es tan corta...

Music:

Uhhh...la música. The world is full of great music: Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan; Brasilian; Classical (Juan Rodrigo, John Tavener, Georges Bizet); Cuban (cachao, Los Van Van) timba, danzon, salsa; Brian Eno, Ennio Morricone, U2, Moby, Dead can Dance/Lisa Gerrald (they do in our souls if allowed), INXS, Marvin Gaye, The Doors, Jane's Addiction, Natalie Merchant, Billy Corgan (I miss the Smashing Pumpkins); there is no dance without music

Movies:

The Last of the Mohicans, Sexo y Lucia - que rico, The Graduate, Rumble Fish, Meet Joe Black, Before Night Falls, Mar Adentro, The Last Tango in Paris, Belle Epoque, Meet the Parents/Fockers, Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, Cinema Paradiso, Pulp Fiction, Strawberry and Chocolate (Fresa y Chocolate)...
