Noise was formed in early 2001 by brothers; Einar Vilberg & Stefan Vilberg. Later that year they recorded 3 songs: Freeloader, Loner & Hate. Freeloader became quite popular in Iceland as well as in Norway and Sweden.In November 2003, noise released their debut album "Pretty Ugly" containing 12 songs. One of them: "Paranoid Parasite" was a hit on the local radio stations as well as the video to the song.Noise released their second album;"Wicked" in November 2006. The album got great reviews. - The first three singles "Hit & Run","Ride the Wave" & "Quiet" were played to shreds on the local radio stations & got a great response from Icelandic rockers.Shortly after "Wicked" was released, noise became a four-piece band. Hilmar Birkisson joined the band playing rhythm guitar. noise got international attention at its best at the 2006 Iceland Airwaves festival, rocking out for over a thousand people.
