It's the bass that gets 'em dancin'!!

About Me

If you need a great bass player who can help take your act to the next level, please drop me a line! I'm an experienced, accomplished bassist, with a great ear, great rhythm, and monster chops. I am highly respected among all past bandmates as well as audiences, and I've got the itch to get back into playing live after a long hiatus. I'm inventive and energetic, with infinite patience and a great sense of humor. Most importantly, I have lots of experience on how to punch up the energy of any band from the bottom up! I can solo like a $!!*?@%, but I am just as happy to keep a crowd moving with a rock-solid groove all night long!! I'm ready to go, all you Lehigh Valley, PA or New Jersey bands, I can step right in and have your act cooking on HIGH in no time at all!! And that goes double for all you highly paid national (or international) acts in the wider world out there!!! Generally, I'm looking for work on weekends and a limited number of weeknights, but of course the number of nights per week is exactly proportional to how lucrative the offers are!!! I can either fill in on a substitute basis or as a steady band member. I've played bass for many years in a variety of styles based on blues, rock, and jazz. I started out in the power trio "Sound Chaser," with an incredible drummer who played like Billy Cobham, playing hard rock tunes by Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, Joe Walsh, etc., eventually evolving into ambitious jazz/rock material by John McLaughlin/Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Jeff Beck, etc. - The drummer & I then joined a band named Steeler with a female model/vocalist plus some slackers from Short Hills NJ, including Bruce Engler on guitar, and some guy on guitar I knew from high school named John, who I actually learned a lot from about building guitars, basses, amps, pickups, leslies, tone - I guess I learned a lot from that dude, I hear he still does a little of that stuff... I mastered fretless bass after seeing Jaco Pastorius with Weather Report and taking a few lessons from Percy Jones of Brand X!! I then spent several years with "The Incroyables." Fronted by powerhouse vocalist/guitarist/madman Toby Ray Loyd, we performed a high-power mix of early Springsteen, Steely Dan, Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, etc. (hear my sound clips - Springsteen with fretless!!), along with several original tunes. We evolved into the band Statement Vague, adding our own cookin' versions of tunes by Pat Metheny, Jeff Beck, etc. These days I am having a great time playing at some of the great weekly open mic jam sessions that are part of the thriving Lehigh Valley, PA music scene. There's almost always a warm and friendly atmosphere, and I've met some fantastic players! Thanks for checking out my Web Page!!
