Reevox

REEVOX is an international pop-rock electro band that was formed in the mid 90s during a break in a BLUES TRAVELLERS concert at the American University of Paris.
Lead singer/composer Zaab Curley Jr. of NYC and Umberto de Martino of Italy had just met and then performed a 3 song 20 minute jam session that left the packed house so blown away that they were demanding where they could buy the CD. Disappointed yet amazed there was no CD, the crowd insisted fiercely that they form a group hence the birth of REEVOX.
REEVOX has recorded 4 brilliant CDs since that time including one with L.A. producer Daniel Lazerus who was nominated for a Grammy Award for his fine work on Donald Fagen(Steely Dan) NightFly album. REEVOX has also recorded tracks for the soundtrack of the film SINS KITCHEN starring Jeffrey Wright (Basquiat,Shaft..) and Robert Miano.
REEVOX recorded the jingle for FASHION TV and will have 3 titles on the hit TV series called WEEDS running on SHOWTIME in the USA.
REEVOX has had numerous amounts of their songs played on many French radio stations including many live performances for RADIO FRANCE.
REEVOX music is made with classic acoustic instruments that preserve an authentic raw vibe for the band. That raw vibe when mixed in with todays trippy electronic effects and cool grooves added with a colorful cocktail of smooth melodies and spiritual lyrics leaves listeners floating and warm.
The addition of super bassist/ arranger Bob Mladenovic from Yugoslavia in 2003 helped combine that raw 70s sound with todays contemporary vibes. Bob is a master at sound design and his talent and vision has helped REEVOX move into the future while at the same time respecting their 70s Californian folk rock influences.
REEVOX has performed all over the world including Japan, L.A., NYC, Canada and Europe including in Paris for the 1998 World Cup and The Annual Roland Garros French Open Tennis Party. Their lineup often includes very polished professionals including guitarist Sal Bernardi (Rikkie Lee Jones), drummer Danny Montgomery (Percy Sledge, J.J. Cale, Elliot Murphy) and other scores of great guest musicians and singers.
REEVOX has just completed a new CD and will release a new single and new video clip EVERYBODY SHINES, which will be promoted during their concerts this spring and summer.
