About Me

"Polly Jean meets Chan Marshal in a major blues meltdown." That pretty much describes Lipkin (a.k.a DD Dagger’s) mix of simple guitar licks, sultry vox, and songwriting style- steeped in powerchords and blues scales. As for the players in the Easies- they too got soul. Bassist Jeff Linton hails from Detroit and finds solace in the blues sound of the 50’s. Kevin Hoyas, guitar, enjoys that Garage music of the 60’s- The Kinks, The Who, The Flamin’ Groovies....and because Kevin works at Waterloo Records he sees his fair share of what’s old & new. As for Drummer Kory Cook - he’s an amazing talent playing everything from garage to jazz - and he’s also the assistant program director at KUT - Austin’s National Public Radio affiliate. What do these players have in common? The desire to rock it and fill their lives with music and performance.
