About Me

I'm the announcer for the Kansas City Roller Warriors. Also, a staff artist/product designer for a company that makes Hawaiian shirts, among other things. And I do some freelance illustration on the side (see blog for a few examples, or duanecunningham.com). I have a hot girlfriend who I've been with for a little more than a year, although we've known each other for about seventeen years.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Music:

Currently: Arcade Fire, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead,The Hold Steady, Islands, Mason Proper, Mates of State, Teddybears, 100 Damn Guns, Director, The Radio Dept.,
Always: David Bowie, Dire Straits, Hank Williams, The Beatles, John Prine, Bob Dylan, Chet Atkins, Beck, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Muse, The Moldy Peaches, Sting, Weezer, Bill Monroe, Joe Cocker, Van Morrison, Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, Elliot Smith, The Wilders
Other stuff I can't think of
Everything that doesn't suck

Television:

The only shows I watch on purpose right now are The Office, The Daily Show, and the Sunday night cartoons. And Heroes.

Books:

Nobody has paid any attention to this list (especially me), but just on the off chance you have, you probably noticed it hasn't changed in a year. It's sadly accurate. Almost a year ago, I started reading the Dave Eggers book and never finished it or moved on to anything else. But now I started reading a new book, so hopefully it will break my streak of illiteracy. So:Currently reading Dreams from My Father by Barack ObamaOn deck are: The Ghost by Robert Harris, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers (the second half), Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, a Joe Cocker biography, and some other stuff.
