Bad Music Sucks

About Me

Hi. This is Josh and Eliot. We're in this band called The Brilliant Inventions. People tell us we need to have a bio, you know, like some kind of thing that tells you about us and stuff. So I guess this is that.

We've been friends for a long time, and we both used to be solo singer/songwriters until we formed a duo. We'd both been playing and writing for a while, but something magical happened when we started playing together. We don't mean to sound all touchy-feely or whatever, but we were definitely better than the sum of our parts. Other people seemed to think so too. Right away, we started making fans, getting gigs, and even a date or two. We couldn't believe it either!

Anyway, in less than a year we won the Eddie's Attic Open Mic Shootout (John Mayer won that too, ya know), and we got voted Best New Local Music Act by the Atlanta Creative Loafing Readers Poll, and the manager for some of our favorite bands (Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, Matthew Sweet, The Jayhawks) wanted to manage us. We don't mean to brag, but this is the kinda thing you tell people in a bio, right?

Things were going well for us as a duo, but we've always wanted a bigger sound. So we got together with some friends and formed an acoustic-garage-pop band. We work our asses off to write songs that people really want to hear, lyrics that people can relate to, choruses that make you wanna sing along. We love music. It's the most important thing to us in the world. If the songs make you laugh or cry or smile or dance then we know we've done our job.

Maybe you're reading this and you don't know us yet. Or maybe you're just checking in on us. Either way listen, we know it's not cool or like how rockstars are supposed to be, but we want you to like us. Hopefully, you'll come check us out, if you haven't already. If you have and you're just reading this for fun, thank you too. That's all for now. See you soon.
