About Me

REQUEST ANNE'S SONG ON JJJ!

ANNE'S SONG 'SHIVERS' WAS FEATURED ON THE SEASON FINALE OF 'REAL WORLD' AND SHE WAS FEATURED IN GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE MARCH ISSUE
ANNE WAS JUST PART OF THE BROAD FESTIVAL IN AUSTRALIA THIS YEAR WITH OTHER ARTISTS JADE MACRAE, DEBORAH CONWAY, ABBE MAY AND SALLY SELTMANN. SHE IS NOW RECOVERING SOMEWHERE IN THE DANDENONG RANGES. THEN IT'S OFF TO TEXAS FOR A RADIO TOUR... .

NEW ALBUM 'KOALA MOTEL' IS NOW AVAILABLE IN USA (Messenger Records), AUSTRALIA (Shock), UK AND EUROPE (Cooking Vinyl).

"When I was writing film reviews for the university newspaper a guy rang up and said he had a new print of the Bob Dylan movie 'Don't Look Back' and that it hadn't been seen in Australia since the sixties. I was like, oh yeah, sounds interesting - I'd never heard of the movie. Me and another reviewer went to this guy's house and he projected it on his loungeroom wall. It changed my life. When Dylan sang 'William Zanzinger killed poor Hattie Carroll' my destiny was changed forever (for better or worse) and that was when I decided that that was what I was going to do. I went out and bought the first two Bob Dylan records, dusted off the toy guitar that my dad had fixed by drilling a big screw between the neck and body, and started writing songs. I never thought I could be a singer but I tried anyway."

Anne has released her new album (Koala Motel) which features special guests: Nancy Wilson (Heart), Lucinda Williams, John Doe (X), Jim Lauderdale, Will Courtney (Brothers & Sisters) and Doug Pettibone... She has made three albums previously: 'Amazing Ordinary Things', 'Live: Ballad Of An Outlaw Woman' and 'Roll'.

iWOZ AND CRUDE OIL

Well, if you want to be inspired I suggest that you pick up 'iWOZ' by Steve Wozniak, the guy who invented the Apple computer. We don't often think of computers as being works of art but this book chan...

Harrys Hair

What happened to Harry's hair? Where has all the magic gone? Where is the daylight? Where is the joy that J.K. Rowling so neatly balances out against the darkness in her books? Where's the MAGIC? What...

Let's see... it started with a warm-up gig about two weeks ago at The Basement in Nashville. I thought it was a good idea if Shawn Byrne, Dave Ray and I got to play a show BEFORE we met up with Lucind...

Japanese Story

This movie is really beautiful. It is very affecting in a subtle, Australian sort of way. The Japanese guy is so much more articulate in English (even though it's his second language) than the Austral...
