About Me

GT LIVE v1.0 was many years in planning when it finally made its debut in December of 2004 at California Speedway. The "interactive motor sports festival" format ushered in a new era of import and sports car oriented entertainment by presenting races and activities in a theme park environment. Paramax, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm that has pioneered fusion car culture events, built GT LIVE around a philosophy that ALL forms of motor sport should be developed as entertainment for those who watch, not just for those who participate. This philosophy was affirmed many times over when GT LIVE drew praise from spectators, media, participants and sponsors for elevating and redefining the quality of an "import culture" event to new heights and for bridging the gap between traditional road racing and the import car oriented youth culture. The LA Times summed it up nicely with, "Weekend festival at California Speedway draws an estimated 45,000 with plenty of things to do and little time for boredom." Even SportsCar magazine couldn't deny the appeal of GT LIVE to the elusive youth market with this excerpt from their March 2005 issue, "The result was a markedly different demographic than that usually found at road races, a much younger crowd introduced to a new form of motorsport."After the successful 2004 event, the GT LIVE team spent the better part of the following year evaluating the event format and refining it into a product more sustainable for the U.S. market and adaptable to a more diverse variety of venues. Much of the current GT LIVE content can be traced back to that first groundbreaking event but some are new and some are still evolving. One thing is for sure, the GT LIVE concept has forever altered the motor sports landscape in the U.S. by putting a spotlight on the youth market and the importance of this group to the future of motor racing in this country. No longer is "throwing a race event" enough to attract new customers to the race track. After the inaugural GT LIVE, variations of the "motor sports festival" concept have cropping up at other races all over the nation to further validate our "motor sports is entertainment" philosophy. As GT LIVE evolves into a sanctioned product, we will continue to guide it toward a sustainable business model that suits the market, venue, sponsors, competitors, media and fans on both local and national levels. Through exciting, meaningful entertainment based content, GT LIVE connects today's youth market to sports car road racing and to the people and machines that make it all happen.

My Interests

GT LIVE will be holding a model search contest at our events in 2008 and pick 4 finalists and 2 alternates in each city. New for 2008, GT LIVE will be hosting Formula D Pro/Am at both events. Pro/Am is the only place you'll be able to see the stars of tomorrow and the competition is fierce. And both Miller and VIR are highly regarded drifting venues because the tracks are awesome and fans can get really close. Redline Time Attack. Time attack caters to the automotive youth market, primarily males between the age of 18-34. Because it allows virtually unlimited modifications of production vehicles, it is a performance showcase for automotive OEs, tire manufacturers and tuning companies. Time Attack features the latest in vehicle, tire and tuning technology and the hottest vehicle platforms. And it is at the cutting edge of new vehicle segments such as the B-segment minis (Honda Fit, NIssan Versa, Toyota Yaris). Some consider time attack to be "the next big thing" after drifting. More info on Redline Time Attack is at redlinetimeattack.com GT Sim Race The GT Sim Race brings you closer to the racing action than you ever thought possible by offering passenger rides in the hottest cars with the coolest drivers. Participation is free. Tarzan's Lap Battle Never been on the race track? Wanna try? Tarzan's Lap Battle allows you to get track time at GT LIVE and to interact with Tarzan Yamada. This attraction is open to all makes and models as long as they are safe and street legal. Mazda will be bringing their three-car Formula Drift Team Drift competition drift team for 5 20-minute ride along sessions. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Ever wonder what it is like behind the scenes of a time attack team? Now you can find out with special access to the Dyno Comp GP garage at Miller. GT LIVE Fan Festivals In 2006 GT LIVE started the concept of Fan Festivals. Now we are taking the game to a new level. Rather than us being involved in each individual Fan Festival, we'll put you in charge. Koni Challenge Road Racing Series The Koni Challenge features battles in two different classes including sports cars from Mazda, Acura, Ford, Nissan and BMW. Auto-X is the most fun, cost-effective and safest way to get into racing. It requires enormous amounts of skill and teaches a lot, yet all you need is your street car to do it. BFGoodrich Karting Zone Almost every successful professional racing driver in the world today got their start in karting. You'll get your chance to test your skills at both Miller's and VIR's world-class tracks.
