THE REASON THAT THIS IS THE CHRIS LUCEY/BOBBY JAMESON SITE IS THAT BOBBY JAMESON MADE AN ALBUM IN 1965 CALLED "SONGS OF PROTEST AND ANTI PROTEST" UNDER THE ASSUMED NAME OF CHRIS LUCEY. THAT ALBUM WAS ORIGINALLY BY AN ARTIST NAMED CHRIS DUCEY, BUT BECAUSE OF CONTRACTUAL PROBLEMS CHRIS DUCEY COULD NOT CONTINUE WITH THE PRODUCT AND RELEASE AS PLANNED. THE ALBUM COVER WAS KEPT AND THE "D" IN DUCEY WAS CHANGED TO AN "L" WHICH IS WHERE CHRIS LUCEY CAME FROM. I REWROTE ALL THE SONGS TO THE ORIGINAL TITLES BECAUSE THEY WERE PRINTED ON THE ALBUM COVERS. SO THE TITLES ARE THE SAME BUT THE SONGS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THE ORIGINAL SONGS. CHRIS DUCEY WAS A REAL AND IS A REAL PERSON, CHRIS LUCEY IS AN ASSUMED NAME OF BOBBY JAMESON, THUS THIS SITE. The story of BOBBY JAMESON(aka)CHRIS LUCEY began in 1963 when I first came to Hollywood and made a record called "LET'S SURF/PLEASE LITTLE GIRL TAKE THIS LOLLYPOP". I left Hollywood after that and went back to Tucson, Arizona figuring I'd had my shot at making records and failed, but in 1964 THE BEATLES erupted on the world stage and I was on my way back to Hollywood for another shot at the big time. I met TONY ALAMO and he began running BILLBOARD AND CASHBOX ads on me for 9 weeks in a row. From a quarter page ad to a 4 page pullout, in BILLBOARD only, I found myself being shoved into a life I had only dreamed about before. I released a record on TALAMO RECORDS called "I'M SO LONELY/I WANNA LOVE YOU", as the ads continued to run, and ended up with a regional hit throughout the mid-west. I then went to England, because of difficulties with ALAMO, and made a record there with MICK JAGGER and ANDREW OLDHAM called "ALL I WANT IS MY BABY/EACH AND EVERY DAY". That record was followed up with "RUM PUM MUM NUM/IWANNA LOVE YOU" on BRIT RECORDS in 1965. Later in 1965 I returned to America, penniless, and made an album under an assumed name, CHRIS LUCEY, which was titled "SONGS OF PROTEST AND ANTI PROTEST". I then returned to using my own name, BOBBY JAMESON, and recorded 4 different singles for 3 different record companies in the space of about 8 months. Some of those singles are on this site, which includes "RECONSIDER BABY/LOW DOWN FUNKY BLUES", which I made with FRANK ZAPPA. I wrote "RECONSIDER BABY" after hearing the PERCY SLEDGE record "WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMEN". Frank and I also made a record together called "GOTTA FIND MY ROOGALATOR" that is not on this site currently, but can be downloaded free on my blog with other recordings. I also appeared in the movie "MONDO HOLLYWOOD" in which my song "VIETNAM" was featured, that song can be heard on this site currently and also downloaded on the blog. In 1967 I released another album as JAMESON called "COLOR HIM IN", arranged by CURT BOETTCHER, on VERVE RECORDS, with a little help from FRANK ZAPPA and TOM WILSON. The next album on GRT RECORDS came in 1969 and was called "WORKING". That album featured JERRY SCHEFF on bass, JAMES BURTON on dobro and RED RHODES on steel guitar, along with BEN BENAY on guitar. "WORKING" was my last released album. There were other recordings of songs I'd written while still with VERVE but they would not agree to release any of them saying they were too controversial and not commercially viable. The "WORKING" LP contained only 3 of my original songs, as a form of protest, against record companies who took it upon themselves, the right, to try and force me to create what they decided was sales worthy. My opinion at the time was that they didn't know what was sales worthy and I haven't changed my opinion since then. What transpired over the 21 years of my life in the music business is now being posted on the blog I am writing telling my own story for the first time. It is because of the internet that I am attempting to set the record straight on the facts, as they happened, as opposed to the rumors and speculation that I have grown weary of reading on various sites, music blogs and music forums. I never had a notion to do this until I noticed how much was being written and stated on the internet that was factually inaccurate. It is my way of fighting back against the bullshit that is slowly becoming a form of rewriting history to suit opinion rather than fact. I became an alcoholic and addict during my time in the music business and was pronounced dead from drug overdoses more than once. I have been fortunate enough to get sober and clean and have stayed that way for the past 32 years. I hope you will take the time to go to the blog by clicking on the BAND WEBSITE.
