About Me

The Ebola were born at the beginning of 2003 in the north suburbs of Rome. After the breaking up of Void and Sonito, Roberto and Francesco (guitars) and Stefano (voice) decided to start a Metal-core project that didnt fall into the homologations whirl. The idea is to play an hard and fast sound but also to keep the distance from the usual stereotypes of that kind of music. There are some good ideas and the desire to do something really important too. They found a drummer, Fabio, who used to play in a Grind band, they recorded a promo with two songs in which Roberto played the guitar and the bass too. But the bass player, Francesco ( Varnas and Cluedo) finally arrived! This roman guys dont play just metal-coresure, they alternate brutality to melodies, a very common characteristic in this type of music, but they also add frenetic parts closer to the grind-core chaos. The singing alternates racking screams to spoken parts that mix well with the reflective moments created by the constant guitars arpeggio, well we are not in front of the usual metal-core, the pieces prove the originality that marks this band. After a show to the Alcatraz club and before the recording of their first Ep Fabio decides to leave the band. The Ebola tried some new drummers, then Maurizio (ex Omicron) was able to convince the band and he helped to improve the pieces. After some live shows and some studio rehearsals they decided to give birth to their first Ep with 5 songs named Settimo Buio , a mix that constructs really complex pieces, in which the change of times is a consolidated custom and the intention to annihilate the listener is a definite aim to reach. Violent music, nihilist, made with screams and sweat, real music that is in the end vehicle of an important message, music that definitely has a lot of things to say. The promo arrives into Carlo Bellottis hands and the Ebola are relying into his Alkemist Fanatix to find a good promotion. After months of choices and negotiations the Ebola sign a contract with Copro Records (Earthone9, Bowbeat and GF93 ) and they give birth to In Borrowed Plumes, a remixed and re- singed version of the precedent ep. In the new work appear also two songs in English, for the first time for this band that always used to sing in Italian. The 1000 ep copies are distribuited by Plastic Head: a worldwide distribution for the work of these young Roman guys, on sale from June 20 2006.
