Fraser Anderson is straight out of the old school of singer songwriters.
-2008-
Major UK, TV station Channel 4 approached Fraser to play on the launch of their new music show.
The mellow new album, "Coming up for air" now released with hundreds of copies heading towards the USA for a huge promo drive to radio stations, after winning a sonicbids competition.
2007 -
Album launched with a concert in an 11th century chapel on the grounds of Chateau de Queille in the Ariege, France, sponsored by the Queille Trust.
Latest album ’Coming up for air’ was recorded with award winning producer Chris Birkett at his studio in Paris (his production credits include Bob Geldof, Sinead O Connor, The Waterboys and Thin Lizzy).
2006 -
Plays a live session, broadcast on American NPR. The reaction across the States was astonishing, within a few hours, Monochrome Records received hundreds of emails & album sales and thousands of hits which crashed the website!
Invited to play at the Nick Drake tribute festival in Tanworth, England.
Fraser’s song ‘Just hanging on’, is used by musistadl productions for swift networks on a documentary about Ellis island, New York in the 1920’s. The program was aired in the UK and USA.
2005 -
Fraser’s song, ‘Something brought you to me’ receives its first airplay, on BBC radio Scotland. ‘How to love them all’ is played soon after on NYC station WFUV. Performs a major role at the launch concert for the opening of the new Perth concert hall in Scotland, alongside musical director & world-class percussionist Trilok Gurtu.
Supports Joan Armatrading at her sell out show at Perth city hall, Scotland, as part of the festival of the arts 2005.
Performs with Dougie Maclean at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow with a sell out show ‘Rural Image’, the closing performance for the Celtic Connections festival.
2004 -
Fraser’s song ‘just hanging on’ is chosen as the closing track on the Big Issue’s charity compilation CD entitled, Mindset. The album was launched with a concert in Glasgow and sold over 50,000 copies.
Debut album ‘and the girl with the strawberry...’ album receives first review, being described as “a masterpiece of a debut” Perthshire Advertiser
2003 -
Performs alongside Sam Brown at a charity concert in Perth, Scotland. Politician Pete Wishart, ex member of Runrig) was quoted in another publication as describing Fraser as “having simply one of the finest voices around”
Records debut album, ‘and the girl with the strawberry...’ Released with a solo concert at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Scotland. The show is described, in the review which followed, as “unplugged acoustic brilliance”.
Plays with Dougie Maclean at the Queens Hall, Edinburgh, as part of the Edinburgh Festival.
2002 -
Performs at the Frankie Miller tribute concert at the Glasgow Barrowlands, Scotland. Fraser plays the Miller song ‘Ghost’, which he also recorded for the tribute album "Something old, something new...".
Performs with Dougie Maclean on a major Scottish tour
2001 -
Wins the Sandy Watt best singer songwriter trophy for the 2nd year running. This award is sponsored and run by the Glenfarg folk club. Perthshire, Scotland.
Records backing vocals on Dougie Macleans album, ‘who am I’.
1975 - 2000
Tours Europe with respected Scottish band Mama Kazoo as drummer and vocalist.
The tour took the band though France, Germany, Belgium and Holland.
Born in Edinburgh 1975.
