Tucson singer/songwriter David D’Alessio draws frequent comparisons to other current icons in his genre-- the "Jack Johnson of the Southwest"; a voice with the "plaintive heights of Damien Rice"; "tenor reminiscent of Duncan Sheik." But by any standards, his 2007 solo release “Songs to Undress Your Ego” establishes him as a unique talent in his own right. "Ego" has been hailed as “an exploration of the tender and mostly hidden parts of being human…through 11 impeccable songs,” and garnered local and national recognition. In the last year, D'Alessio has shared the stage with the best in his genre: Colby Caillat, Brett Denen, Lifehouse, Missy Higgins, Rocco de Luca, and Newton Faulkner...to name a few. He has also completed 2 tours of the western US and one of Ireland in support of his CD. The single, “Savor the Cold” has been and frequently heard on local and clear channel radio. D’Alessio has also been a featured performer at the Durango Songwriter’s Expo and performed on NBC’s Arizona Midday show.
D’Alessio’s melodic songwriting expresses his carefree, reflective style drawn from pop, rock and latin with his own unique twist. Songs pull from a rich emotional palette and his high tenor confidently handles his memorable melodies and heart-wrenching lyrics. D'Alessio explores the tender and mostly hidden parts of being human, the ability to give love and to cause hurt, to be careless and to enrich.
