Hello My Space Friends,
My name is Carissa Amberly. I’m a 16 years old singer from Longview, Texas pursuing my dream as a Country Music entertainer.
In 2006,I won the Texas Country Music Hall Of Fame Talent Show in Carthage, Texas. As part of my winning that Title, I had the privilege of performing on many shows in Branson such a, Mickey Gilley's, Jim Stafford's, Jim Owen's, Hamner Barber's and Doug Gabriel's.
Also as a part of my winning, I was able to take a trip to Nashville in 2007 and sang on The Jeannie Seely Show and The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree. If you would like to view my pictures on these trips, go to www.myspace.com/carissaamberlymusic and also on my website at www.carissaamberly.com.
In 2006 I had the opportunity and honor of singing for The President and 10,000 others at a Rally in Sugarland, Texas. It wasn’t the White House, but it was great fun.
I was also honored to be the entertainer at a Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser hosted by John Schneider of Dukes of Hazzard fame. I even had my picture taken with the General Lee and got to see “Bo Duke†drive off in it after the show.
Two years ago, I was introduced to Bill Mack, “The XM Satellite Cowboyâ€, the most famous and greatest country music DJ ever, and his wife Cindy. Because of that meeting, Bill and Cindy started playing my CD on their XM Satellite 171 “Open Road†program. My song, "Some Heroes Don't Come Back" has received tremendous response on XM Satellite from, not only truckers, but firefighters and soldiers as well. The song is about people (a trucker, a firefighter, and a soldier) who unselfishly lay down their lives to save the lives of others. This song has hit home to so many people and I am very touched by that. Billy Mack (Bill Mack’s son) and his wife April also play my music regularly on their Saturday “Open Road†program.
Also, my single, “Soldiers and Truckers†a song written by my friend Howard Salmon in 2007 has become a favorite on the "Open Road†show. Many truckers came out to the Great American Trucking Show in 2006 and 2007 where I performed for thousands of people in a matter of three busy days. I have a great time performing and meeting new people there, especially the people in the trucking industry who became my first real fan base. I sincerely thank all the Mack family for the boost they gave me in this business.
All of my songs have been played on many radio stations across the country. My biggest terrestrial radio boost came when I was chosen to be the Dynamic Discovery of the week on Diana Davis’ Overdrive Radio Network, hosted by our friend Bill Mack, once in 2006 and once in 2007, first with my song "Some Heroes Don't Come Back" and then with my song "Letters". It was a great honor to be chosen for such a fantastic award two years in a row.
I expect 2008 to be a great year for me, as I am a nominee for two awards this year at the Texas Music Awards. The awards for which I am eligible for are, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Record of the Year- "Some Heroes Don't Come Back". There are many great singers and entertainers in this competition and it would be such a thrill and honor just to win one.
I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to look over my websites. I would love to have you as one of my friends if you aren't my friend already. My dream to be one of the best Country Music Entertainers around cannot come true if I don’t do my best for you, the fans and lovers of Country Music. My Grandpa Green inspired and instilled in me the desire to be a Country Music singer, but it is you, the fans of Country Music, who are now my inspiration to sing everyday. There is nothing I enjoy doing more. Thank you for all for your support of Country Music as well as your support for a young girl from East Texas chasing her dream.
