About Me

From Rolling Stone:"During his 1992 campaign, at the end of a long day, McCain's wife, Cindy, mussed his receding hair and needled him playfully that he was "getting a little thin up there." McCain reportedly blew his top, cutting his wife down with the kind of language that had gotten him hauled into court as a high schooler: "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt."
For 23 years, David has played bass in a variety of original and cover projects. In addition, his "day job" as a motion picture camera assistant has been the catalyst for many behind-the-scenes "celebrity" jam sessions with an eclectic list of talent, including actors Kevin Bacon, Jeff Bridges, Adam Busch ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and Betty Buckley ("Cats").
He studied Film and Television production at New York University, and after graduation, worked for two years at Panavision New York, the largest motion picture camera rental house in New York. Simultaneously, he continued pursuing his musical interests, performing with "The Red Eye Rose Band", who were selected along with five other unsigned bands to appear on the compilation album "Dinner for Six", on NYU's own MBT Records. They also took 2nd place in TKR Cable's televised "Battle of the Bands" competition in 1988, hosted by "Power 95" WPLJ's Howard the Cab Driver.
David's later projects included "The NY Ruffians", a high-energy original punk band, who's single "I Need Your Help" made the Top Ten at WECS Radio in Connecticut. He subsequently joined up with "Tripping Monsters", the house band on Thursday nights at Company B's in Orangeburg, NY for over two years. Their single "Stand Up" appeared on Phisst Record's "Propaganda" CD to benefit the "Rock the Vote" foundation. The album also featured other up and coming acts, including "Rake's Progress". While playing with "Tripping Monsters", David studied bass guitar for one year with David C. Gross ("Rhett Tyler and Early Warning"). He also served as band leader and featured player for two seasons of Cablevision's popular "The Sal Rozzi Show" starring Sal Rozzi (of VH-1's "Most Awesomely Bad" series).
In 2003, David participated in two benefit productions of "Berg Off-Broadway", an evening featuring the music of composer Neil Berg ("The Prince and the Pauper"). David played bass behind singers James LaBrie ("Dream Theater"), Michael Lanning, Darius DeHaus and guitarist Alex Skolnick ("Testament"). He has also accompanied Mr. Berg for special functions at both Joe's Pub and Rockefeller Center's Rainbow Room. Earlier this year, David performed at NYC's legendary China Club at the APAP showcase for Mr. Berg's latest project, a new musical about the Apostles called "The Twelve". The evening featured special guest vocalist Patti Russo (Meatloaf, Queen).
Last year David completed work on the final season of HBO's hit series "The Sopranos" while continuing to perform with Rockland County's premiere 7-piece dance & funk act, "Huggy Bear and the Sweathogs" (the only band to feature a lead singer dressed in a bear costume) His original project, "The New Romans" recently played two shows at B.B. King's in New York City, opening for the legendary Rick Derringer and British rocker Terry Reid. The band features violinist Allison Cornell (Cyndi Lauper, Joe Jackson) He can also be seen playing with The Tremors in NY and NJ.

"I thought that hip hop in its early days was quite interesting, but it hasn't been for a long time. It's time for it to die. I'm sick of it." ~Joe Jackson
"Every so often you would see an act on MTV which was supposed to be the bad boys, and there was all this sneering and snarling going on, but it was so obviously manufactured and so obviously mainstream that it just seemed funny to me. Rock and roll really isn't bad anymore, it's really not dangerous and all that." -- Joe Jackson
"The way things seem to be going in North America and Western Europe, if not globally, is that we are supposed to be afraid. We are supposed to do everything right, lead a life of zero risk and basically have the shit scared out of us by every kind of authority. It seems to be the only way they can maintain any authority" -- Joe Jackson
"Rock'n'roll has always been made up of both trained and untrained musicians, and in the end, it doesn't matter. The point is whether you have an original idea, the spark of something special." --Joe Jackson
"It makes me laugh, the whole idea that rock or pop music could still be rebellious after 50 years. I think the most radical thing you could do is to do something with real quality, soul, passion and intelligence." --Joe Jackson
