The Red Bull Music Academy is an event that travels the world. A yearly celebration of all journeys and breakthroughs, all the dreams and intricacies that go into the music we love. For two weeks, you'll be checking gear, chatting on tunes, and spinning in clubs, while getting a rare glimpse into local musical hybrids in a different country. Inbetween times, you can talk to people from around the world who started revolutions in sound. They're the people we look up to, and they're looking to you for a fresh perspective in turn.
RBMA SWISS EDITION
This years swiss edition took place in a brand new location in zurich. "Der Klub" opened its doors before the official opening especially for us. More than 50 musicians, DJs and producers came to get informed about the application procedure and to profit of our lecturers expert knowledge.

After some general information about the RBMA in Barelona given by our host Heinz, we started with local rapper Kutti MC. He told us about his career and milestones on his own way to success as an independent rapper and poet. His message was to keep it real, to stay focused on the music, not to care about style of clothes or other lambencies and to keep up the sense of humor.DJ Steinski (Tommy Boy, NY)
After a break and some Red Bull Cola DJ Steinski entered the stage. Wow, this man has many fascinating experiences to tell. Impressive! He had an exciting story for each session he recorded with his friend Douglas in the 80ies. And these stories have been not too short, but very entertaining. After the interview he invited the participants on stage to show them how he does live mixes.Steinski feat. Kutti MC
As a surprise Steinski invited Kutti MC to rap freestyle to his improved loops and beats. While the public was still on stage, Kutti MC took place in the audience area and rapped about this twisted situation, the RBMA and the power of music. Great entertainment! And possibly pretty close to the feeling participants must have during the RBMA in Barcelona.
