Predatory Mindset started out in mid 2005 on a Marine Corps base located on Okinawa, Japan. Orginally the band started out as five U.S. Marines looking for something more to do than to spend their money in bars, get drunk, and fight each other.Chris Bacon (Vocals), Chadwick Hardy (Guitar), Josh Crooms (Drums), Dave Budwah (Bass), and Ryan Webster (Guitar) began to jam around in an office space that was unoccupied in their command's headquarters building and shortly came up with their first songs; Pyschic Vampire, I Sit with Death, and Vigilante State of Mind. They began to play shows for unit events, at the on-base clubs, and even out in town. They shared the stages at Okinawan metal festivals like Blood Fest Live with Japanese metal bands like 2 Side, 1 Brain, Fake Kingz, Stinky, and 8-Ball. The band recorded a 6 song demo CD at the Chatan Recording Studio located on Hwy 330 in Okinawa, Japan. There was only 5 copies of that demo ever made.Predatory Mindset has gone through quit a few line up changes over the past year or so. The first to leave was David Budwah (Bass). He was reassigned to a duty station in Virgina. Dave was replaced by John Freriks, a member of the U.S. Air Force. John incorporated the keyboards into the Predatory Mindset songs as well as taking over the bass. Later the band lost Chris Bacon (Vocals) to a similar situation as losing Dave. Chris was replaced by Brad Maney, also a member of the U.S. Air Force. In 2006 the band decided to return to the studio and record a 7 song demo CD with their new vocalist. This demo was mass produced by the band and distrubuted by the band as well.August 2006 the band lost Josh Crooms (Drums) and Ryan Webster (Guitar) to a deployment to Iraq. This of course halted their live gigging, but it did not stop the remaining 3 members from writting and recording 4 new songs. November 6th 2006, they release 4 brand new tracks replacing Josh Crooms with a drum machine and Chadwick Hardy playing all guitar tracks with the absence of Ryan Webster. The band will return to full 5 piece status in the future and return to live gigging in the pursuit of being signed to a recording label.
