About Me

I am a living, breathing, loving, fucking paradox. I smoke after doing yoga. I eat healthier than most athletes but drink as if I’m training for the inebriation Olympics. You’re just as likely to find me at a psychobilly show as you are to bump into me at a swanky club with a big-name DJ. I am the most monogamous flirt you’ll ever meet. I love my friends more than life itself but detest most of the general populace. I can write for any readership but haven’t read a book in years. I’m just as liable to be sitting at home on a Friday night watching Fight Club or Shawshank Redemption on the couch with my dog as I am to be stumbling down the street, cigarette to my lips, walking to my house as the sun rises. I love film but rarely watch movies. I am forever plagued by anxiety due to not making time for myself, but on the rare occasions I do, I experience anxiousness bred from idleness. I am a dirty clean freak. I would love nothing more than to fly around the world with the love of my life were it not for my fear of both — flying and love. I adore the freedom of bachelorhood, but wholeheartedly embrace the comfort of relationships. I believe religion is the root of all evil, but have a profound relationship with God. I love sex but the entire concept frightens the shit out of me. I am a punk rocker who drives a yellow SUV. I hate needles but love tattoos and piercings (on both myself and the opposite sex). I despise fighting, but won’t hesitate to step in if a loved one (and that includes friends both male and female) is threatened. I loathe structure despite the fact it may very well be the one thing in life I need most. I can just as easily be the life of the party as I can be the designated driver. I may forget your name, but I will never forget your face. I can chat well into the wee hours of the morning without uttering a word. I am a morning person who only witnesses that time of day as I’m preparing for bed. I can’t stomach caffeine, but somehow manage to consume green tea as if there’s an impending worldwide shortage. I hate sweets, but *insert shameless self plug here* may be one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. I may also very well be the nicest asshole to ever cross your path. I hate saying no to anything or anyone, so "yes" tends to get me into all sorts of trouble (good and bad). I'm not a substance abuser by any means, but see me out and about or at a party and I could be on any number of "fun things." I am a left-winged lover employed by right-winged rednecks. I am fascinated by death but truly believe I will never die. I am an introverted extrovert. I am predictably spontaneous. I am simply complex. I am me.
I…
Play drums, love hoodies more than any other article of clothing, write, photograph both animate and inanimate objects, consume copious amounts of scotch, adore the inebriation Absinthe (true Absinthe) provides, wear Chucks in most any social or formal situation, smoke Chesterfields because the tobacco powers that be decided it would be a good idea to stop making both regular and light Lucky Strikes, have a yellow (although she’s actually white) Labrador named Jules, named my Labrador after my once-favorite DJ, Judge Jules; truly believe in my heart of all hearts and soul of all souls that music is the most powerful entity in the world (next to love of course), would love to sit down with God, Fat Mike and Maynard just to "see what happens;" wear black clothing for no reason other than it’s simple (and much less prone to staining). Consider it a work in progress… But then again, isn’t that what life is anyway?

My Interests

Music, writing, beauty, creativity, driving around aimlessly with my camera and stopping intermittently to photograph nothing of particular significance, and having the resulting photo exude a beauty or profundity beyond words, spirituality, meeting new people, Absinthe, late nights, sunrises, sunsets, keeping vampire-esque hours, sleeping late, mellow days, crazy nights, beer (anything but generic American piss), wine (pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon), dive bars, pool, darts, live bands (anywhere, anytime, anyhow and with anyone), spontaneity (makes life interesting and worth living), photography, sushi, seafood, road trips, Lucky Strikes, scotch, vintage clothing, tattoos, piercings, Chuck Taylor's, friends, my dog Jules, family, Dickies, women, love, life.

I'd like to meet:

I really don't give a fuck so long as you have something interesting and worthwhile to say about music, life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, sex, love, film, photography, the arts, politics, writing, spirituality, religion or any other profound subject matter that I've failed to mention, yet has the potential to inspire, influence or motivate. Oh yeah, and Henry Rollins... Watch this and THINK!

Music:

For as long as I can remember, or at least as long as I've had this myspace profile (which are essentially one in the same), I've listed my favorite bands under this category. After much thought, however, I realized that it is not the band which elicits that tingling feeling when a particular song traverses one's auditory canal, but rather the song itself. In that vein (pun intended), the following songs will forever have the aforementioned effect. Not to mention I'll probably end up marrying the woman who has the wherewithal, time and love to dedicate to the creation of a mix tape (or tapes, as this list will inevitably continue to increase over the years) with ALL of the following songs. And yes, I did say "tape." There is something to be said not only for a tape's reminiscent attributes, but also the extra effort required to record songs to tape vs. CD. So, without further adieu:
