About Me
RANDY B.
Self-proclaimed Southern Boy
An urban chameleon by birth, the bi-coastal Randy B grew up in Quincy, Florida, his parents exposing him early to experiences and classic crooners that would touch upon his natural instincts as a musician, vocalist, and songwriter.
At a young age, his father (Randy Bush Sr.) was his role model, nurtured his son’s musical abilities and introduced him to legendary musical catalogues consisting of Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder and Bobby Womack which allowed for constant inspiration. It was then that Randy B knew he wanted to express himself musically.
He produced his first song by 18, which led to his run of live performances in the Florida area. Randy B enjoyed success from his Florida exposure, but wanted more and wanted to reach a broader audience. Without hesitation, Randy B single-handedly began writing and producing a demo. His hard work paid off. From that demo, the catchy single “Candy Man†gained continuous airplay and noticeable radio spins throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Getting positive nods from industry insiders while growing a devoted fan base, Randy decided to set his sights even higher.
He stayed on his grind and wrote a string of hits. This led from one collaboration to the next and the news of Randy B spread like wildfire. Randy B began collaborating with hot producers such as Sam Salter (Boyz II Men, Donnell Jones, B2K), Andrew Lane (B5, Carl Thomas, Dave Hollister), Phillip Scott (Tamia, Petey Pablo), Wirley Morris (Keith Sweat, Lloyd), and Tez Morgan (Envogue, Ideal, Bell Biv Devoe).
“Let it Be,†produced by the infamous Tricky Stewart of Red Zone Entertainment (Rihanna, Britney Spears, Usher) was inspired by a friend who felt “tired of love.†The track speaks of longing for trust in a relationship but dishonesty and deceit are all that is left. The club banger “Shine†featuring the legendary rapper Juvenile and co-produced by Sinista, pulses a hard-hitting Caribbean beat, offering a classic anthem to people of all ages.
Flying high from his string of collaborations, Randy B continued to focus on his songwriting strengths. He pushed the limits with his most recently penned “Growing Pains†for all men once torn between two women. With lyrics and arrangements so expressive, Randy B chronicles his life experiences through song.
Multi-talented, Randy B has easily adapted to different genres of music and has shared the stage with artists ranging from Nas to Ashford and Simpson, bringing traditional Florida bass to the urban sounds of R&B and Hip-Hop. Equal to his vocal and production abilities, his songwriting and arrangements are beyond his years.
You just can’t deny his swagger, versatility and sound. Randy B continues crafting and exploring his range of potential and promise. With splashes of progressive urban lyrics and reggae influences, Randy B combines a range of styles – Soul, Hip-Hop & R&B. When you hear it, see it, feel it…you’ll know it’s none other than Randy B.
