Writing, reading, bass, guitar, piano (I need to get a keyboard; I haven't played in ages), drinking, driving, music, movies, NFL and Fantasy football, meeting people / socializing, expanding my interests and knowledge / learning about new things, sleeping, watching "extreme" sports (but definitely not participating - once I hit the awkward, clumsy phase, it never passed), inner reflection, and pissing people off by just being me and doing well.
Surf, rockabilly/ psychobilly, punk rock (old-school style and hardcore), and rock 'n' roll bands in and around New Orleans who'd like help getting booked and/or promoted; or, out-of-towners who'd like to play here. We need to get our scene back, and I'm tired of waiting for someone else to do it. I'd also like to try to get something going in Picayune, where I've ended up; so, bands in and around that area as well. People that are willing and able to help me meet my goal of bringing good music back to these cities, and local artists into the spotlight. Venues who want to play host to these musicians. Other (more experienced and better-connected) promoters who want to show me the ropes. Record labels and distribution companies. Street team and flyer designer volunteers.Additionally, Mike Patton, Tim Burton, H.R. Giger, Jello Biafra, Johnny Depp, HST, "God", Peyton Manning, J.P.Witkin, Ralph Steadman... There are so many artists of different mediums worth mentioning here, that I think I'll just leave it at that.
Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Dead Kennedys, Jello Biafra w/ other bands, The Misfits, The Circle Jerks, TSOL, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Sepultura, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, Iggy Pop / The Stooges, The Ramones, Black Flag, Fishbone, Dead Milkmen, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, NIN, Ministry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Lords of Acid, Rabbit in the Moon, Monk, various drum 'n' bass, some house music, Rancid, Op Ivy, NOFX, Guttermouth, (Ozzy) Black Sabbath, The Electric Hellfire Club, Dropkick Murphys, Lunachicks, L7, C.C.R. (yeah, I'm from the South), Social Distortion, The Rev. Horton Heat, The Black Crowes, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Jim Croce, B.B.King, early Megadeth, early Metallica, Beethoven, Mozart, The Beastie Boys, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Butthole Surfers, a little bit of The Cure and Depeche Mode, The Exploited, GNR, Motley Crue, Eminem, Bily Idol, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Digital Underground, KISS, Skid Row (call me cheesy), Marilyn Manson, The Madd Wikkid, Pink Floyd, REM, The Rolling Stones, Primus / Les Claypool, Duran Duran, We're Only in it for the Honey, The Pallbearers, The Unnaturals, The Schitz, The Muddpiggs, Twatstompa, Die Rotzz, The Bills, The Ventures, Dick Dale, and I'm sure there's more that I can't think of.
Anything by Tim Burton, anything with Johnny Depp, Monty Python, anime, horror movies, some B movies, some sci-fi, comedy that doesn't try too hard - I just love movies.
Fuck T.V.! There are no more original ideas, and there's nothing worth watching but football, House, and animated series (especially [adult swim]). And Japanese game shows (Gotta love Ninja Warrior; but, whatever happened to mXc and Banzai??). And Law & Order: Criminal Intent (but only the ones with Vincent D'Onofrio).I don't watch TV regularly enough to keep up with any series (other than House). I've got better things to do, goddamit!I've traded it all in for the warm and inviting glow of the computer monitor instead. Haha! MYSPACE IS INTERNET CRACK!!!
How about authors instead? Hunter S. Thompson. Edgar Allen Poe, Ray Bradbury, Clive Barker, Kurt Vonnegut.... There's so many. I really just love to read. One day, I'll write several of my own so people can put me in their Myspace "Books" section.
It's wonderful to be inspired by others and to have heroes, but you should strive to become your own hero. Be the best self you can, and inspire others to follow in your footsteps, but on their own collective paths.
