To tell the tale of X+X you must tell a tale of Acid abuse,Russianfolk music,and the over scruntinization of John Zorns music, this is that tale. On the hottest day of 2000 Heat attended a Mr.Bungle Concert on acid; opening his mind to the idea that all the music had not been written yet like he thought. He went home and bought "how to play" books for guitar,keyboard, and song structure, he also spent a small fortune at Coop records buying music from all genres and nations. He would listen to Polka,Klezmeir,African,Highlife,Avandt-garde, and what ever they listen to in the Orient, trying to asorb the styles. The next year he started his first band "StinkFinger" with his metal friends compromising with them into playing a hybrid of Surf/Punk, but that was as far as his freinds were willing to travel in Heats desire to play collage music. Then came the shortlived "Dr.Heat and the Demonic Plague" an unrepeatable act that was damn close to what he wanted. 6 months later he created "VaudeVillian" they played songs in different genres and had real talent, but fell in from its own weight of it self and its habbits. Heat did nothing for 3 years besides a street jam with his idols "Skeleton Key". Not being able to find worthy and willing players for the music he wrote or the fact if he did have a band where would they play in town, made him hopeless. Things changed in 2007 when he found some like minded musicians under his nose at the Mixtape recordstore in East Moline. In the fall of that year he started +X, making the same mistake of playing with people that didnt share his vision or desire and was stuck holding the ball for 100th time. Having a show booked he called on his new freind Jason whitmarsh from One Big Nut to see if he could help him with junk playing he agreed and did one better and got Andy Nightingale from the NUT, to play guitar and junk also. That show got cancelled, but the glue had been laid, and on 4/4/08 at the Mixtape benefit, the band [adding a X to the name] solidified. X+X are three artist playing chance music that are looking for places to play and show there art.
