Steve!?

Last year, I was elected school treasurer, and I didn't even run!

About Me

I'm the guy you come to in a heartbeat if you need a groan-inducing pun. I should get business cards printed up.

My Interests

going to concerts of bands that very few people know, eating Chipotle at least once a week, watching movies that involve film noir elements or superheroes, ultimate frisbee, reading (on the train or off), pub quizzes, Chicago, comedy in general, cardio kickboxing, Amazon.com binges, eating all the wasabi with my sushi, jogging, thrift stores, corn mazes, randomly climbing things (walls, trees, roofs, whatever), jokes at the expense of Dungeons and Dragons players (I will always laugh at a +2 charisma joke), being excessively liberal, all things Mac, road trips, apple cider donuts, dinner parties, BBQing on a nice fall day, hay rides, riding my bike, anything that takes up time on the computer while I am at work, jazz, Brazilian jazz, Cuban jazz, roller derbies, dining alfresco, Sudoku puzzles, people who are also terrified of sharks, and my obsession: the ancient art of KARAOKE!

I'd like to meet:

Here is a list, off the top of my head: - people from Chicago
- law school students
- anyone who is or has ever been a mascot
- musicians interested in starting a novelty band with me
- Gary Larson
- anyone who laughs at inappropriate things (bonus points if you laugh out loud and get shot dirty looks by others)
- tea drinkers
- T-ball players
- teetotalers (just to say I've met one)

This will continue to grow as I get bored.

Wikipedia does a great job of classifying EVERYTHING into at least one of the millions upon millions of categories on their site.  If there isn't already a category for it, they'll probably just ...

Your krum is on my list.

Has anyone pointed out yet that John Oates, of the illustrious Hall and Oates, looks like he could be a young Borat?

On needing to express myself

I need a creative outlet. My job mostly deals with pre-determined content. I don't write, I don't act, and I don't contribute to any reputable medical journals (you know, the trifecta of artistic expr...

On hickeys, in general.

A certain someone I know (no names will be mentioned for the sake of protecting the innocent individual who apparently enjoys seventh grade makeout sessions) has a hickey right now. As my parenthetic...

Did he eat beans? Lord no!

This is absurd.  MySpace ads are now officially the best place to consistently find a "fart" button.

Further proof...

...that human beings are the stupidest of the dominant species ever to rule this planet. Perhaps it is time the Tyrannosaurus made a comeback? They might have had a brain the size of a peanut, and t...

Tell me how to win your heart, for I haven't got a clue.

A thought occurred to me while watching Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" video just now (here's a link, in case you, too, care to watch that piece of aural and visual bliss):  do blind people save a lot ...

Random Lyrics Quiz

I saw this on Tyler's blog and hey, why not? Here's how it works: I listened to my iPod at random and typed up the first few lines of the first thirty songs I heard. Some are tough and some are r...

In Distress!

Why is it that I can no longer buy a pair on un-distressed jeans or khakis from any of the major cheap clothing stores?! Over the past few days, I've been hunting down new khakis for work, and every ...

The Fingerpickin' Whiz Kid!

I started taking banjo lessons at the Old Town School of Folk Music on Monday.  I am most excited about this development.  So far, all we did in class was listen to the teacher play some son...
