About Me


Amy Fiorito is a junior flutist at The University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and is currently earning a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance. Amy began playing flute at the age of ten and since then she has been recognized for her passion to excel and her ability to comprehend and express musical emotion. She has participated in masterclasses throughout the United States and abroad, playing and studying under several renowned flutists such as Jill Felber, the late Julius Baker, Robert Dick, Gary Shocker, Joshua Smith, Jim Walker, Brad Garner and Sir James Galway. In addition to performing this summer with The 2008 Rome Festival Orchestra in Italy, Amy can be seen playing at various venues in the South Florida area including the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center and Lincoln Theatre on Miami Beach. Amy is currently studying with Trudy Kane, Principal Flutist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and her former teachers include Kaylyn Kinney and the late Christine Nield – Capote.
