Cassandra Rondinelli is currently the Flute Teaching Assistant and Mancini Fellow at the University of Miami Frost School of Music where she is working toward her D.M.A. in Flute Performance. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami, Frost School of music with a Master of Music in Flute Performance and summa cum laude from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. She has participated in masterclasses all over the United States having the opportunity to play and study under several flutists such as Jeanne Baxtresser, Stacey Steele, Alberto Almarza, James and Jeanne Galway, Trudy Kane, Tadeo Coelho, Jill Felber, Brad Garner, John Bailey, George Pope, Josh Smith, Robert Dick and Ali Ryerson. She is a member of the Florida Flute Association, Pittsburgh Flute Club, Florida State Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, The College Music Society, The National Flute Association, and Alumni of the National Music Honorary, Mu Phi Epsilon.
Cassandra has performed and presented at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. She is a flutist in the Walenstein Symphony Orchestra and has substituted in the Florida Grand Opera and Miami Symphony. She has performed at Heinz Hall with Sir James Galway and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and once again with the PSO for a Fiddlesticks Concert for young children. In 2003 she was a musician in the premier of the "Requiem for Fred Rogers" and in 2006, she was the winner of the Butler Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. In 2008 Cassandra was chosen to perform in two chamber music festivals including the New York University Woodwind Quintet and the Summit Music Festival.
Cassandra is working toward her certificate in the Dalcroze Methodology while attending Carnegie Mellon University during the summer sessions. She plans to incorporate a hybrid of this study with continuing education and future certification of the Kodaly and Orff methodologies. She currently holds a position as an Instructor of Music Theory/Eurhythmics at the University of Miami Frost School of Music Piano Preparatory Program, is on the flute faculty at Arts and Minds Music Conservatory, and has a certification in Kindermusik. She also teaches early childhood/elementary music at La Prima Casa Montessori School, holds a studio of flutists, and can be found performing at venues in the Miami area.
