Welcome to my space. Let me bring you up to speed.
I was born and raised in Cork, Ireland.
I wanted to be a novelist at first. Then found that medium too cumbersome. So I thought, poetry. Yes, I will be a poet. Short concise slices of life. And I became a poet. I was 11 mind you, and nobody actually knew I had become a poet. And I didn’t really produce anything that you would class as a poem, as such.
I played sport, went to university, studied science, fell in love with sand dunes and water, moved to Jersey and worked for Durrell Wildlife "saving species from extinction", fell in love with ducks, got a scientific paper published (very proud!).
I had been writing songs, kind of as a diary, cause I have a terrible memory, so it helps me place things.
I got a band together, and it went better than I had expected really. Within twelve months we had recorded an album played two festivals (5-7,000 people at each), played as main support to Nerina Pallot at the beautiful Jersey Opera House, and got great support and airplay from Channel 103fm.
A series of events then led me to London where I have built a following and have enjoyed gigging in some of the capitals finest venues. I got some decent reviews and some support for my songs which helped sustain me. Two years later and I now feel settled in London. Therefore it is time for another move! And so I am off to Cork to persue some ideas that are nibbling away at my head.
I would love to see you at gig soon, so keep an eye on the listings and come along and say hello, and join me on the journey.
