For Bigga Rankin, CEO & founder of the Cool Running DJs, music is more than a form of entertainment - it’s a way of life. It is only until you’ve experienced his live performance of moving the crowd; breaking new music or his interaction with the thousands of fans that support his events will a person understand why Bigga Rankin is called the greatest show on earth. While many DJs are trying to brand their name, Bigga Rankin is approaching super stardom.
Bigga Rankin, started performing as a DJ in Chicago, Illinois in the early eighties, playing strictly reggae. In 1986, Bigga Rankin moved to Jacksonville and the city has never been the same. The super stardom turning point in Bigga Rankin’s career and the Jacksonville Music Scene came in 1990 when Bigga incorporated his love for Hip-Hop into his playing selection. Since music is a way of life for Bigga Rankin, in addition to DJing, the people of Jacksonville have seen Bigga Rankin play the role of promoter and radio personality with the number one show in the market, back when he had time to dedicate to being an on air talent. It’s hard to stay in radio, when national recording artists and promoters all over the country become aware of your ability to move the crowd.
Bigga Rankin has literally traveled all over the US, except for Nebraska and Hawaii. He’s also played in parts of the Caribbean including Cancun, Mexico and the Island of Curacao. Bigga Rankin’s ability to read his audience makes his presence memorable whether he’s performing alone or while on tour with various recording artists including platinum recording artist Juvenile, Eight Ball & MJG, Mike Jones, Wayne Wonder and a host of others.
Many DJs claim to break music, if Bigga Rankin’ wasn’t the humble person that he is, he could put those DJs to shame. Today, there’s a clear distinction between introducing music and breaking music because of Bigga Rankin’s trend setting ability to truly break artist and their music. When you’re the MC/DJ for the night, the event promoter and you have a team at the venue distributing your infamous Mixtapes the average record promoter, let alone a DJ can’t compete with that. But when you’re Bigga Rankin, there’s no competition because the act of DJing is not a job, it’s a way of life.
Bigga is a member of (2) of the hottest and fastest growing DJ coalitions in the country - Regionally Vice-President of The Hittmenn DJs (based in Atlanta) and Nationally The Core DJs. He has, also, been recognized in various local, regional and national publications including The Hole Magazine, Ozone Magazine and The Source Magazine. Bigga Rankins is the founder of, The Ghetto Grammy’s, an awards show that recognizes the talents of recording artists (established and artist on the verge) and behind the entertainment scenes personnel. The Ghetto Grammy’s is one of the most highly anticipated award shows in the Southeast region. He has hosted and produced the Seagram’s Gin Mix Tape, which was later recognized as the No. 1 Mixtape in Jacksonville. and he continues to create a massive outlet for artists and products/service companies needing that special marketing boost through his one of a kind Mixtapes. His name on the Mixtape circuit is rapidly growing like wildfire.

Labeled and proven as Floridas A&R, Bigga Rankins is here to stay and while hes here music, whether R&B, hip-hop, reggae, etc., can and will be made or broken by this man.
Bigga Rankins has broken artists music such as TI, Pastor Troy, Dirty, Lil Bootsie, Lil Webbie, Mike Jones, Young Jeezy, 8 Ball & MJG, Juvenile, Plies, Lil John & Eastside Boyz, Khia, JT Money, Wayne Wonder, Field Mob, Crime Mob, Franchise Boyz, D4L, Young Cash, Boyz-N-Da Hood and many more. Because of his passion and love for the artist he works with he has maintained a personal relationship with all of them. In addition, he has toured with and performed with TI, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Trick Daddy, Lil John, Notorious B.I.G., Wayne Wonder and many more.
Bigga Rankins creative grinding never stops. He has created the hottest and rawest mix tape series to hit the southeast in this decade. RNR Radio (Real Nigga Radio). This catchy and raw concept has artist and labels lined up with hopes of gaining street credibility and buzz through the voice known as the hit breaker of the south. He has already done mixtapes for artist such as Boyz N Hood, Jody Breeze, JT Money, Juvenile, Young Jeezy, TI, PSC, Plies, Swordz, Young Cash, Khia and many more.
Having appeared in Magazines such a Ozone, The Source, Da Hood, The Hole and Duval magazine and having received such awards as Ozone Magazines Entertainer of the Decade (2000), Upstart Record Pools Lifetime Achievement Award (2001), TJs DJs Tastemaker Award (2003), Seagrams Gin DJ of the Year (2004), Hood Magazines ’’ On-The-Grind Award (2005)), Florida Entertainment Summits Record Breaker of the Year (2005), and TJs DJs Hustler Award (April, 2006). Bigga Rankins, who is also the Vice President of the nationally known Hittmenn DJs and a member of the Core DJs, plays in front of the largest urban events in the country such as the BET Spring Bling Black College Reunion in Daytona, Walt Disney Florida Football Classic (Florida A&M vs Bethune Cookman) in Orlando, FAMU Homecoming, Come Together Day, Memorial Day Weekend in Miami and many more events.
Whether its spinning in a local neighborhood (normally in places where radio and club DJs are not welcome are respected) for a few hundred people, in a club for over a thousand partygoers, or at an event with 10,000+ screaming music lovers, Bigga Rankins produces raw energy and spits pure fire every time he touches the mic.
Since the early nineties, Bigga Rankin and The Cool Running DJs have sold and produced well over a 300,000 mix tapes, mix CDs, videos and DVDs in the southeast. Students who attend college away from home, military and folks doing state and federal time are gradually taking Bigga Rankins and the Cool Running DJs from Duval County to the world.
