The blues that Satan likes to sing...

About Me

Four jaded young cynics meeting in a smoky old back alley bar and playing their way through a night of Bukowskilly sad, subtle, ironic reflections on lost love, passion and angst.
Old House Playground was created in spring 2005 by Tryfon and Evangelos, who had been experimenting with different sounds and styles together for a few years. After some changes to the rhythm section Conor and Andreas joined in 2006 and 2007 respectively, completing the band.
Old House Playground's self produced debut was "The Whore and the Dog:" an album of 14 tracks drawing influence from rock, jazz, blues, rebetica, and flamenco...
We are constantly writing new material, exploring our perimeters. Some of the new songs are darker, some lighter, some heavier, some drawing heavily from rebetika or blues. We are currently solidifying our reputation as a live act around Athens and Greece, although the scene here is slow and frustrating at times. In summer of 2007 we organised a few low key gigs in Ireland which has whetted our appetite for travelling and touring. We are also considering relocating ourselves this year, to an as yet undetermined destination, the road maybe.
Old House Playground are looking for a label/management to record/tour. For information and bookings please email [email protected]. OR www.myspace.com/oldhouseplayground
