GONEMAD

South Florida is home to a band that embodies the universal sounds of rage, excitement and power. Run like a train and powered as a machine is West Palm Beach’s GONEMAD. Their musical style has captured and evolved a successful merger of metal, hard-core and rock, which translates to a good time feel and a serious clarity that is hard to shake off when the music stops. Even more evident is the rapport GONEMAD develops with its audience at virtually every venue.
In 1996, the members of GONEMAD had done their time with other acts that failed to mix talents and personalities effectively and found the right chemistry amongst themselves, both musically and internally. Craig Mcinnis, formerly a guitarist in the pre-GONEMAD band JUNKWAFFLE, found that his ultimate contribution was to come from the hurricane in his lungs and the fire in his brain as he assumed the role of GONEMAD’s primary vocalist. Guitarist/vocalist Gerald Brown joined JUNKWAFFLE after spending many years playing with a local hard edge funk band MOLEFUNCTION, bringing with him a special determination and unique expression. Drummer J.C. Dwyer, formerly of West Palm Beach’s acclaimed-RAPED APE (later re-named PAINGOD), brought to GONEMAD the stability and technical workings of a full powered industrial machine. August of 1996 brought guitarist Cliff Powell to the line-up after an introduction between friends/musicians. Powell proved himself to be capable of maintaining the balance of both studio quality musicianship and a madman’s creativity. In May 1999, Marshall Stevens took over bass duties from the recently departed original bass player Scott White. Stevens, who was an old high school jamming partner of Powell’s, brought with him a distinctive technique and style which helped to open new doors in GONEMAD’s system of writing and performance. A final addition to a group with more than enough to bargain with.
Years of these individuals’ hard work and endless talent have formed into a foundation, maintaining to this day, the integrity and chemistry of GONEMAD. Mcinnis feels the magic between himself and fellow band mates is contagious when all have their respective instruments. This is evident when watching a live performance. An immediate rapport was forged between Stevens and Dwyer at Stevens’ audition. With instruments in tow, this rhythm section is both unbreakable and free to roam, with the other person instinctively knowing the way. This bond is prevalent with GONEMAD as a whole. All of GONEMAD’s members believe that the individual is to be simplistic and open to change. With the breathing room in place, GONEMAD has the power and influence to tear off the roof at any show.
Since their formation, GONEMAD have successfully completed many tours of the East Coast, initiating a loyal core of fans and continually spreading their sound throughout the heavy music scene. March 2008 gave birth to GONEMAD’s new full length CD "Subtle", which has proven to be the most comprehensive representation of the band’s caliber to date. Paving the way for "Subtle", are the band’s previous releases “Planet 9” "Curse the Day", "Step Up" and "Impact". "Subtle" reveals GONEMAD’s inevitable longevity. "Subtle" is sure to elevate GONEMAD beyond their previous sights just as their writing and live performances have done time and time again since 1996.
