American Pitbull Terriers, (I have two, recently three) Riley Gavin, and my beautiful princess Caoimhe who passed away earlier this year (2007). They're my kids. Nishikigoi or "Koi", these have been one of my newest and most consuming passions. Nishikigoi in Japanese means "Brocaded Carp" or Jewelled Carp. These fish range from pennies to almost four hundred thousand american dollars for one fish. They can also grow to be almost four feet in length (Mostly the Chagoi or Magoi varieties) and come on almost any color and pattern you want to look at. Watch out, they can be addictive... Scuba Diving, this is something I've been into over the past year or so. I finally got a couple real open water dives in Hawaii a month or so ago. Swam with sea turtles (pics coming soon) I'm hooked for good now... MMA, BJJ, and everything hand to hand...need I say more?
I'm also starting to get into rock climbing, mostly in the rock gym at the moment. I'm also definitely getting onto the mountain to snowboard this year too, it's been wayyy too long. DSM's (Diamond Star Motors),I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that is more built every day and is nowhere near stock anymore. Guns, I have 1, a Sig Sauer P226 .40cal. My next purchase will probably be a Benelli M4 S90. I'm not really the backwoods cabin gun nut type I just enjoy shooting and like to feel completely secure in my home. Music, we'll get into that later. and Plants I have many, from Philodendrons to palms, to spiders to you name it. I got into Horticulture and Gardening years ago and haven't looked back since. Actually that is what got me into Koi (see above) I'm a huge fan of almost anything culturally Japanese

True Friendship
(With none of that Sissy Crap!!!!)
Are you tired of those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good, but
never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that
actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cutesy little
smiley faces on this card - Just the stone cold truth of our friendship.
When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and
plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you that way.
When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever
is choking you.
When you smile -- I will know you finally got laid.
When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it
every chance I get.
When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible
stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.
When you are confused -- I will use little words.
When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me
until you are well again. I don't want to catch whatever you have.
When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your
clumsy ass.
This is my oath...I pledge it to the end. "Why?" you may ask?
"Because, you are my friend."
Friendship is like peeing your pants: Everyone can see it, but only you can
feel the true warmth.
Music:
I like a lot of music. Not too crazy about Country but Johnny Cash, Ry Cooder and whoever did that song on Oh Brother Where Art Thou rocks. I came up (13-15) listening to bands like Metallica, Misfits, Testament, Slayer, VoiVod, Flotsam and Jetsam, Etc. Soon enough that got a little too tame for me (15-16+) , Then I started to listedn to stuff like Sam Black Church from Boston, Judge, Youth of Today, and a bunch of other great American hardcore along with a ton of punk, rockabilly, industrial, and ska. Then I started to get into Rap, I think it was House of pain that did it to me but you could easily call that on De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, NWA (FTP), Public Enemy (getupandgetgetgetdownlate911jokeinyourtown) , and all that then too. Somewhere in there I got into Techno, Drum and Bass (Jungle, fast and slow breaks etc) still got a wicked place in my heart for them, these club techno kids/adults these days have no respect for the lost art of breakbeats though. Shit I guess I might have gotten into Techno a little earlier since my first Rave/Party was in '91 KC and the Sunrise Gang production, Crusade (No one throws a party like Kris Clark, ever, and I'll stand by that. These days I mostly listen to Reggae, Hardcore, Punk, Metal, Rap, some odd shit like Tom Waits and Leon Redbone, and a bunch of other shit that makes me happy.
Movies:
Hmmm.....wayy too many to list, Recently though "The Last Samurai" and "Hero" were pretty damn decent. Boondock Saints, Death to Smoochy, anything with Robin Williams in it, Edward Norton too (see above), Godfather (of course) Heat, Boiler room, Point Break.....I'dunno, I'm a wicked movie guy and I dont have all day...more as they come to me.
Television:
Weeds, damn I love that show. I hate TV but Showtime has been bringing some new game to the table. Dexter is frickin great too!! CSI by day, serial killer of bad guys by night, who the hell thinks up this shit??!?! That show sleeper cell is looking good too. Watch out HBO, Showtimes comin fer ya.
Books:
Who has time to read....?
But when I do...
I really like to read books on Koi, Improving yourself (7-Habits, etc), Philosophy, great fiction, Military fiction like Tom Clancy also sometimes, Without Remorse being my personal favorite by him. I dig horror, Clive Barker jsut knows something the rest of us don't (and probably dont want to) I really dig H.P. Lovecraft also when it comes to horror writers (another that knows the things that go BUMP in the night personally). I like Science Fiction and Fantasy, Robert A. Heinlein most in the Sci-Fi realm, and in Fantasy, Piers Anthony, Tolkein, Robert Jordan, (um we're in another area that I don't have the time to do completely here). I love to read and usually have four or five books going at any given moment, with no real time to slow down and chip away at any of them in any decent amount. Last but not least, I really dig, Dan Brown, Michael Crichton, and anyone who does their homework before sitting down at the typewriter....I'm done...
